Bad Ass
The Battlefield series has always been highly renound for its multiplayer component so how does the series fair when there is a bigger concentration on single player. Battlefield : Bad Company is the game that has taken this leap so does it sink or swim.
Bad Company puts you in the shoes of a new recruit in B-Company a group of misfits and trouble makers who are used as cannon fodder when other troups are too pricey to use. Your squad is made up of a hard nose sargent, a mad explosives expert and an argumental communications expert. The story starts off as a normal war which seems to be between the yanks and the reds but quickly takes a few interesting turns and your squad finds their own personal reasons to fight and its a very good and light hearted look at war. The story is nothing special but as far as first person shooters go its pretty darn good.
The gameplay in Bad Company still feels very much like a Battlefield game but with one major new addition the destructible scenery in Bad Company is the best I have ever seen in a game. Everything is destructible trees, buildings vehicles and even the ground. This adds a whole new dimension to the combat allowing you to get the drop on an enemy by blowing a hole in the wall and jumping in behind them. This is really the thing that makes Bad Company stand out from the competition. There are 7 main campaigns all of which are on the large side but very well paced and broken up nicely with vehicle sequences. The length of the campaign is reasonable and the single player as a whole is great with lots of collectables adding replayability.
The multiplayer component of Bad Company is a classed based multiplayer with a variety of different game modes. There isnt much to say about it to be honest its very like battlefield you can jump into vehicles and spawn on squad members its a solid experience and adds to the games complete package.
This is no doubt the shortest review I have written Battlefield: Bad Company doesnt break any new ground but everything is done so well. The destructible scenery and quite simply brilliant explosions alongside a great multiplayer mode makes Battlefield: Bad Company a brilliant game and one of the top first person shooters.
