Batarang

A bladed throwing weapon used by Batman to subdue criminals or blow out tires. Despite being named after boomerangs, they are essentially a bat-stylized shuriken or ninja star. The Batman: Arkham Asylum collector's edition includes an actual 12'' recreation of the weapon.

A weapon or tool that can be thrown and then returned to the user.
Shuriken

A throwing weapon used by ninja. They come in varying shapes and sizes, but generally aren't used for the purpose of eliminating the target, rather for distracting said target.
Sonic Batarang

The sonic batarang is a uniquely equipped batarang that can be used to attract the attention of guards. Once upgraded, the sonic batarang can overload the suicide collar of a nearby enemy, knocking him out as well as stunning any nearby enemies.
