About
BallisticNG is a free anti-gavity racing game taking place in the year 2159. Players race for a variety of corporations all with their own agendas and unique ships. The game features 14 tracks, 13 teams, 5 game modes, 5 speed classes, weaponized combat and modding tools to make tracks, import and configure ships, create custom sound packs and import custom music.
The game is a love letter to the original Wipeout games on the PlayStation, it aims to provide as accurate gameplay as possible while providing completely original tracks, teams and tools for people to build their own custom content.
Project History
The project originally started on April 2nd 2015 on the Wipeout fan-forum WipeoutZone as a repurpose of a previous project called AGR2280. BallisticNG was to originally be a HD fan remake of the original Wipeout games before it was turned into a more original concept. Half a year later two members of another Wipeout fangame, SlipstreamGX, joined development as progress on SlipstreamGX had hit a crawl as the entire game began being rewritten. The game was submitted onto Steam Greenlight on April 11th 2016, it was accepted and then released on Steam for version 0.4 on May 30th 2016.
