3DO
Platform »
3DO was a video game console manufactured by Panasonic, Goldstar, and Sanyo. Despite the initial hype surrounding the system, the console's $700 price tag proved to be the ultimate kiss of death for the system.
This console was somthing else...
I think the 3DO was a neat concept, despite other peoples ideas. The idea of a 3D atlas and a Video Almanac paved the way for other console with the waether reports (Wii)
Internet (Xbox 360) and movie players (PSX). The games were okay, and it was fun on multiplayer. The only thing that ruinded it was the 700 dollar cost.

Certainly, but it was also $700 (in 1994 dollars no less) for a game console with no real "killer app" titles considering most of the best games for the system were ports (Super Street Fighter II Turbo, Wolf 3D, etc etc) Of course it was going to go under. Ahead of its time in some ways? Maybe. I guess in the pantheon of failed consoles it ranks above the Jaguar and both of the genesis add-ons, but it still failed for a reason. Of course, 3DO went on to make bad games before going under and dragging New World Computing down with them, so I guess they got theirs.
" And DeathKeep "I have to ask about that game just from looking at the screenshots. It looks like the bad D&D game I've been looking for all these years.
@mariofreak1:
Oh man. I watched the AVGN video for that. I totally forgot that that game existed before you just mentioned it to me.
