It's been a couple years, but 4 hours sounds about right. This was one of my favorite single-session games. One tip I wish I'd known: don't worry about having to choose paths and being locked out of them soon after. It's not actually a metroidvania and is rather linear, and while yes it will gate you off from returning, you don't need those optional paths unless you're after 100% collectibles and achievements. Which, honestly, it's not the type of game that really needs those. Just enjoy the experience.

So sad to see Mimimi go. I've been a fan since Shadow Tactics. That opened my eyes to the stealth tactics micro-genre. I even went back to play the original Desperados games afterward and had a wonderful time. At least they get to shut down on their own terms and support Shadow Gambit for a bit, instead of a more abrupt closure.

Worth noting that while they revived stealth tactics, there are occasional other companies' releases out there like War Mongrels, Partisans 1941, and the Commandos remasters. I'm not sure any of them quite match Mimimi's work, but there's hope the genre will continue.

@chiefbeef123: That "someone" is Danny O'Dwyer and Noclip. And yes, Grubb said very recently he'd like to record a new talkover for it. I think it was either last week's Bombcast or Dumptruck.

I still remember the gut punch of hearing the news. Can't believe it's been 10 years already. RIP man.

@ninnyjams: Have you tried enabling Performance Cookies? It's in the popup from the "Do Not Sell My Personal Information" link at the bottom of any page. It sounds strange, but for whatever reason the video player doesn't work properly for many of us without that cookie.

Unfortunately, it doesn't stick, so I have to hit it again every day or so. But enabling that and reloading the page makes the videos work again for me.

Happening to me too as of maybe 2 days ago (approx. early Friday morning), in both Firefox and Chrome. Using the Download dropdown works in both browsers.

Edit 3 weeks later: Enabling the Functional and Performace cookies fixed it in both.

I can't think of anything that hasn't already been said. It felt to me like Jess had really settled in, and Jason was always going to be here. I wish them (and Justin Vachon) well in finding new jobs.

And I was looking forward to "You're Gonna Jimish It".
