Fighting Vipers 2, sometimes stylized as FV2: Fighting Vipers 2, is a 3D fighting game developed by Sega AM2 (along with Anchor) and released by Sega for arcades (using their Sega Model 3 hardware) on April 1998.

A sequel to the 1995 game Fighting Vipers and using the same hardware as Virtua Fighter 3, Fighting Vipers 2 revamps the graphics and gameplay engines while reworking the outfits for all returning fighters and adding four new ones (two of which are locked from the start).

The game's story takes place two years after the city mayor's defeat in his own tournament in Armstone City. He uses his power to conduct a "Viper Hunt" in an effort to imprison all of the Vipers.

It was later ported to the Dreamcast (with assistance by Scarab) in January 18, 2001 for Japanese regions, with a European release sometime afterward.

    Gameplay

Fighting Vipers 2 plays similar to the original, with some new gameplay mechanics:

    • Players can perform a one-time "Super K.O." technique (f+P+K+G) if they manage to lose all of their armor. Defeating their opponent with this technique causes a cinematic animation and wins the match, regardless of the match status.

    • Kuhn - A mysterious metallic android who resembles Virtua Fighter's Dural. Hidden opponent and unlockable fighter who is fought in the game's hidden "Bonus Stage".
