Overview
Tetris Ultimate is a falling-block puzzle game developed by SoMa Play (later as Ubisoft San Francisco) and published by Ubisoft for the Nintendo 3DS on November 11, 2014, with digital PlayStation 4 and Xbox One releases on December 16, 2014, a PlayStation Vita release on June 2, 2015, and a digital PC release on December 10, 2015.
An adaptation of the classic puzzle game Tetris and developed to celebrate the series' 30th anniversary, Tetris Ultimate brings the series to eighth-generation video game consoles (along with the 3DS and Vita handhelds). It is notable at the time for its variety of gameplay customization settings, allowing players to change the rotation system, random piece generator, and various speed and frame delay.
It is also notable for being the only game in the series to be released by Ubisoft and for using the Unity game engine. The digital versions of the game were later delisted from all marketplaces on February 2019, with the overall PS4, XONE, and PC versions unavailable to purchase.
