I played this game as a young child and could never get past World 3 or 4, but I always knew this game was special. I finally went back and beat it in my late teens and I've played through it every year since. It is a perfect video game.
I've averaged well over an hour of playtime per day since I bought Rocket League, across 3 platforms. It is the perfect sports video game; mixing soccer, hockey, and even a little bit a pool in there. Playing soccer with cars isn't the most appealing idea for a video game, but when the cars feel so good to drive and fly around, it makes for endless fun.
My nostalgia for SOCOM 1 and 2 is probably the sole reason for it being so high on this list. It was essentially my introduction to online multiplayer shooters, and I played a fucking lot of it. Playing this game online with other real people was so novel for me, and on top of that it came with a headset to talk to said people! I still am holding out hope for an HD remaster to happen one of these days.
