It seems like 1TB isn’t going to be enough moving forward, so can anyone suggest the best external storage drive to get for the Xbox One X?

I am leaning towards a SSHD since that seems to be the sweet spot; any specific models that you can suggest?

    Thanks!

If your going with SSHD you are stuck with 2TB unless you want to fork out $400-500

I have a 4TB Seagate Backup Plus Hub aka Seagate Game Drive Hub and i love it

WD 4TB Black My Passport is also good.

I've had a 2TB Seagate or Western Digital USB 3.0 drive for along time now and have been very happy with it, even though it's been consistently full for the last couple of years. I can't remember which manufacturer it's from because it's been tucked away behind my entertainment unit for such a long time.

Thanks for the feedback. I got one of those 4TB Seagate drives and the upgrade from my launch Xbone to the X was super easy. :-)

The way the Xbox One handles external storage is legitimately great. I love that it just views your storage as a block if you never want to worry about it. And when you do, like this week when I copied my entire library, apps, et al. onto a different external drive to just plug into the One X and be good to go, it's so easy to do. Underrated ease-of-use experience.

I wouldn't get an SSHD for an external drive, as you won't get much benefit from it unless it is your boot drive. Just buy a 4 TB Segate Game Drive instead.
