@tobyus Nope , I just checked my e-mail on my phone and saw it ! Subject was " Exclusive Invitation for Xbox one Alpha trial " and i clicked it and it shot me right over to the titianfall origin page to register in hopes of been selected . FINGERS ARE CROSSED !

How can this game still be in Alpha state 2 months away?
I'd guess this is another case of "betas are the new demos" and "alphas are the new betas." If they called it a beta and it was still buggy as hell, which should be ok in a beta, people would still flip their shit and assume that it's going to be awful. Alpha still has the "it's early and broken but that's ok" kind of mentality.
does it concern anyone else that this game probably should be into beta by now if it's shipping in march?
Their internal builds are likely far more advanced than what some of us may have gotten emails for, and this is more than likely a stress test for their servers since this is shaping up to be the first true "killer app" on the One.

Yes... but your missing the point Alpha means not feature complete beta means its feature complete but not final retail build. Calling this thing an alpha IS kind of weird because that means they are saying its not feature complete.

Word on the street is that the textures in the alpha were reduced to 25% quality for some reason? I wouldn't particularly call that "feature complete"
@anywhereilay: That guy is 1) hilarious, and 2) has a point. EA should be giving these out left and right to BF players. Although it's also kinda shitty to say hey our game is broken, why don't you buy our other game instead?
@inspectah: Could very well be but then again that still confuses me as was already mentioned they said the textures were cut down to 25% from what they are in the final build. Most people don't have the knowledge to parse that sort of thing. I would think putting crummy alpha in the hands of people who don't know what they are seeing are going to make snap judgements on a purchase based on a incomplete build of the game.
This is one of the more brilliant marketing moves I've seen EA pull in a while. I mean sure the Alpha probably has some practical use as well, but most of the benefits come from people talking about it online.
