    What a game! 0

The game lays out it's cards early with a brutal introduction to the characters and the world. After some fairly weak opening levels Wolfenstein really finds its stride as the compelling, and surprisingly well written, story picks up and you get into the swing of the combat. The game looks to provide the player with a lot of combat choices allowing you to be stealthy or a brawler, pick people off at range and it happy to allow you to switch between styles are you feel fit.Plus you get to kill Na...

Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus Review 0

Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus is an fps action game made by Machine Games in which you put back on the boots of B.J. Blazkowicz and go on a little road trip across Nazi-occupied America. What are you doing in this land? You're doing what B.J. does best: shooting, stabbing, maiming, chopping, disintegrating, exploding, and burning Nazis. And while this is something Blazkowicz has been doing for decades now, The New Colossus is the first game to shed light on the man you have been controlling fo...

Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus (Xbox One) Thoughts 0

I was fortunate to be able to buy Wolfenstein: The New Order for the Xbox One on sale earlier this year and not only play it to completion but play it while streaming (thus providing plenty of video proof of my lack of prowess in these games). I had heard a decent amount of positive buzz surrounding the first game but for whatever reason it was never enough to get me to give it a try. It took a big sale (with a price of about 10 bucks) for me to take the plunge and it was worth it (despite its ...

One of the most effective horror games I've ever played 0

WARNING: This review includes spoilers for some thematic elementsAs someone who is rather set in their political beliefs (going as far as unironically calling myself “The Snowflake” when I step into a wrestling ring), the America presented in Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is downright terrifying. But not for the obvious reasons. Sure, Nazis taking over the U.S. is horrifying, but it's the way Americans are presented in this game that sends chills down my spine when I think about i...

Even the perfect storm of relevance is no match for BJ's cheese-dipped sophomore slump. 0

Much of the time I spent with the third iteration of Machine Games’ revival of the Wolfenstein series was in a state of incredulous disappointment. From the user interface to the straight-to-video plot and bland cinematography, this game suffers a massive sophomore slump despite the entirety of the gaming public rooting for it’s success. The anti-Fascist message couldn’t have come at a more appropriate time, and it turns out it was too good of a coincidence to be true. Judging ...

Clearing off the 2017 Backlog 0

Wolfenstein 2 is a confounding game in many ways. It struggles where plenty of games have succeeded, succeeds where most developers wouldn’t dare tread.Gunning down hundreds and hundreds of Nazis, turning their hate-filled bodies into bloody bits of viscera, shouldn’t feel so timely or cathartic, but this is where we are in 2018. Many euphemisms have been thrown out there as to how we got here, avoiding the obvious truth that traces society’s path from “problematic, but ...

Another new game, and another new storyline. 0

Terror Billy's back. After Deathshead met his demise, Terror Billy hears that America has been overtaken by the Nazi Empire. With interesting characters (both old and new) hard-hitting weapons, an awesome setting, and an experienced storyline, this game is a MASSIVE MAJOR IMPROVEMENT over the previous two games. Everything about this game, from the graphics to the music, from the characters and settings to the collectibles and creativity, have made it one of the best values of id Software yet....
