One of the helpers and companions of Tripitaka/Xuanzang in the ancient Chinese novel Journey to the West. Is often seen alongside Sun Wukong, the Monkey King, and Sandy, the water demon. Also known as Zhu Bajie.
One of the five protagonists of the Chinese classic novel Journey to the West. In the original work, he's a demon living in a sand river, but in most Japanese depictions, he's a kappa.

The hero of the Jin Yōng novel "The Return of the Condor Heroes". Inexplicably, she also shows up in IGS' Journey to the West-based brawler, Oriental Legend (known as just 'Long-Nu' in the English version).
An important character in the Chinese novel "Journey to the West". The character's gender is not clear in the original text, and thus, has been portrayed as either/or throughout fiction.
