Something about these mechs just doesn't click with me :/

I never played the first games, so I'm not one to judge how the series "evolved", but I can definitely say that this doesn't look very appealing to me at all.

Front Mission was the first mecha series I ever showed interest on.

Front Mission for me always seemed like a game title which was a lazy choice making it too generic.

I thought this series died a long time ago.

Really excited for this. Glad to see the Franchise is still kicking.

i feel like this mech theme needs something fresh and new some thing that reinstates it as a cool theme.

 I've always liked the Front Mission series.. but an action game? I'm not sure. It looks good (a lot like old Armored Cores), so I am interested, but I kinda wish they would make a modern Front Mission SRPG or another Ring of Red.    

I'm still unsure about this game. Oh well, I think there's plenty of time for it to change my mind. Considering that MechWarrior 5 isn't walking out any time soon and Armored Core 5 probably won't get a PC release, I'll take what I can get.

I'm sorry but I really hate these videos of the producers, etc. talking so "officially" about the most likely sub-par game they're making. Words like "new fans" and "experience" and the many hundreds of dollars they probably spent to make this video most definitely turn me OFF with respect to the game. It's basically Armored Core, tell me why it's any better than any of those old shart buckets and not that "new fans" will like your new "experience". Grr. I hate marketing speak.

They keep saying that this game will satisfy fans of the series... 
 
My response: Fuck you! No it won't. I've been wanting a current gen SRPG (I can only think of two so far)... and I've liked the stories in the Front Mission series that go with the SRPG gameplay.

game does not look that interesting to me.. greatest story can't save the game, if the gameplay sucks, and from the videos i can already tell it sucks

Really, nobody's going to mention that man's ridiculous amount of collars?

I refuse to pass judgment on a game that's not even in the players' hands yet. Best case scenario: we get a good Armored Core clone. Worst case: we get a chapter in Front Mission history that, at least, wasn't integrated into the main series's numbered installments.
 
I'm not overly concerned over Evolved, because good things have happened (and still can happen), much like Gun Hazard. 
 
However, I was very much looking forward to the highly praised Front Mission 5... that Square decided not to port to the US... or share with any territory outside of Japan, for that matter. That game looked like a fantastic modernization and streamlining of the Front Mission strategy heritage. And that bums me out, because it means I have to wait longer (after Evolved) just to possibly get to see a modernized strategy Front Mission in proper localization.

I hate these arcadey-twitchy animations in games like this when it should be deliberate and fluid.

this game looks weak. i'm gonna go back to playing gundam side story on the dreamcast now. not THAT'S a good mech game.

I dont think I've ever really played a Mech game done right, something tells me that isnt going to change with this one. I have never even heard of this game until now, but a Japanese company farming their game development out to US developers who have no idea what the previous games where about, doesnt usually end up going so well. Who knows, maybe it will actually be pretty cool, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

I thought it was funny how that one guy seemed so excited about basic, common elements found in every other game. "The controller shakes when you skate." Yeah, it's called a rumble feature. You know, the thing every other freaking game has! "The camera tilts when you turn." Uh, it actually wasn't tilting at all; the only thing the camera was doing was staying behind the mech when it turned because if it didn't, well you know what would've happened.

My Wanzer just got a Boner. 
 
The game looks like it could be fun, but the Wanzers move waaaay too fast.  They're almost at Armored Core speeds. In the FM4 intro here and here, they move like the large, powerful, armoured beasts that they are. Also the explosions look cheap.  The Wanzer model just gets replaced with some generic stripped down one and pops. Excitement diminished.

There was something wrong with the lighting during those "interviews". They all had slightly sickly, blotchy looking skin.

I actually thought, before seeing this, that the game would be something like Valkyria Chronicles, but on the Front Mission universe, it seemed the natural step (in my opinion, VC is the next step on SRPG genre). I guess they decided to ruin the franchise...

Give me back my turn-based goodness, they's lost me with this change and I can almost guarantee 
this new  change won't make much of a difference to those that dismissed it all in the first place. It's lose-lose.

 When I first heard that the newest installment of the Front Mission series was coming to the PC I nearly shit my pants with glee; the first three Front Mission games are easily among my favorite games of all time. However, when I found out what they where doing with the franchise my heart nearly broke. This game is not front mission. It's a mech game with the front mission logo thrown onto it to try and boost sales. Not saying it will be a bad mech game, but, imho, it does not deserve to have the Front Mission name on the box.
 
EDIT: Also, why was there no PC logo at the end of the trailer?

I'd really like a good third person giant robot action game, but I'm starting to have my doubts about this one.
 
The guy was all "yeah the camera shakes when you go fast and turns when you turn so it's all intense" but I didn't see either of those things happening. It looked about as "intense" as an Armored Core game, without the superspeed.
 
That's not what I'm looking for. Not at all.
 
Maybe this is still an early version, but they better polish that shit up or I won't be picking this up no matter how much I love Front Mission or giant robots.
