Man, this game's marketing has been so aggressively against everything I like that I'm starting to think I need to play it. Just to give myself some real challenge.

Yep. FIrst two albums were awesome. Third album was ok but generic. Not what I wanted out of Linkin Park, but not bad in its own right. Definitely a warning sign though. Everything after that is garbage.

Was listening to an old Bombcast recently where they were talking about some obscure band who was being paid to promote Facebreaker in the form of stopping their concert to play the game with members of the audience. Shameless and dirty, as is this. Even moreso because Linkin Park's a much bigger band. As (I think) Jeff said on that episode "This is what happens when marketing people are allowed to make decisions." Way to make sure and drop EA's name in there, too.

What motivates artists (and I use that term loosely when it comes to Linkin Park) to burn credibility on stuff like this? Do they not have enough money already?

Watching this is like... I remember when Linkin Park used to be good, and I remember when Medal of Honor used to be good. Allied Assault is definitely one of my favorite games of all-time. Hundreds of hours poured into that online. So much goddamn fun.

Played the last Medal of Honor and it just wasn't Medal of Honor. Nothing about it even evoked a shadow of the feeling of playing the older ones. It wasn't terrible, but it definitely wasn't great. And the online really was just a weird hybrid of Battlefield and Call of Duty.

Castle of Glass is off their new album Living Things, which is actually a pretty good album

I don't think a grown man still rocking a chin beard has any right to make fun of Linkin Park.
