Fable III Developer Diary

Hey its still Fable.  I like it.  I have been waiting for the whole weapon thing for a while now, its cool to seem them do it.

Age limits for videos....why are we not able to just enter in our birth date on our profile page, and have that be automatically applied to these videos?

Way to reuse that female player instant kill more than once Mr. Editor.

Neither of Peter's balls were seen during this movie, I am disappoint.

EDIT: I forgot to say how awesome the weapon system sounds. Finally some logic to an Evil Sword! It ends up evil, because you did evil actions with it! Yay-ay! Angel Wings+Holy Blade = happy. 

I foresee the same complaints being leveled against this game as we saw for the previous two.  It's not an open world/Elder Scrolls type hardcore RPG.
 
But I have to say, this is what I like about Fable.  If I wanted to play the Elder Scrolls, I'd play that.  Fable is more of a casual, very fun to play style RPG with a lot of interesting features and environments, and I think it should stick to that.  I would like to see a lot more depth in certain areas, things like the jobs and family wasn't as deep or as interesting as they perhaps could have been.
 
But I'm looking forward to this a lot.

I know man...Peter knows his audience all too well. In seriousness I'll probably play the game and probably like it but the talk about customization is just too much. If the weapon "morphing" goes beyond one light version and one dark version of something I will be completely shocked.

Fable II was a great game, just WAY WAY to easy.  Hopefully they address that.

I like the first two. I know a lot were unhappy with them but I wasn't. Fable 3 looks pretty good, now just don't go over hyping it.

I loved the first game, but didn't care for the 2nd as much. Don't know if the 3rd will satisfy me either.

You herd it here first, "Fable III is gonna be a damn good adventure".

It looks like the cool thing to do nowadays is shit on Molyneux. I dont get it really since most ppl doing so haven't even played the Fable games. I for one want to play a game that has a passionate developer behind it and thats what Peter is. If they dont have passion for the game they are making then you get Rouge Warrior. Fable II was a fun and really enjoyable game. And I have no doubt that Fable III will be aswell. And thats what I want from a game like Fable.

I don't get why everyone gets so down on Molyneux all the time. Sure, sometimes he inflates things and may exaggerate, but the man seems genuinely enthused and passionate about what he's doing, and seems like he's having a lot of fun doing it.
 
I wish I could say that I was having the time of my life at my job. Hell, I wish everyone could say that.

I know it's not going to happen, but i wish fable would come back to the PC.

Peter Molyneux is such a bitch. I'm tired of hearing that guy talk. Wings on your character? Don't give a fuck. Fable known for innovation? Nope. Fable III looks like a Fable II expansion? Yup.

This has made me more interested in Fable 3.

The Jumps in swordfights remind me of Prince of Persia. Most things described (dynamic Sword shape, emotions, touch) seem just aesthetic changes. I wonder how different would it make the gameplay. Maybe its focus is more on immersion now. Or, more will be said in the coming vids :P

It's looking alot like fable 2.5, My one and only wish is that they fix the co op.

This is embarassing now. YOU WONT BELIEVE THIS, but as you get more evil, YOUR SWORD LOOKS MORE EVIL. I'm so done with this black and white morality dynamic. It seems so dated now.

The visuals in Fable II looked very good in spots where the frame rate didn't take a plunge. Two years later, they can still look good if they polish it up and make it 60fps at all times.

That car is driving on the wrong damn side of the road.

Sweet, can't wait. Not sure about the Natal side but the game from the looks of it (on the standard 360 controller) will be wicked cool.

Looks awesome, looks great... my Xbox, on the other hand, got the red light of death last summer soooo.... yeah.

Usual Peter Molyneux, but I kind of love him for it. Nothing is ever as cool as he describes it, but the end product is never as far off as many claim. 
 
I never expect much from Fable 2 and thus it turned to be pretty good compared to my low expectations. My expectations are higher this time, so he has more to prove, but at the same time I am not chomping at the bit to play the game.

As a fan of all the Fable games I'm pretty excited for Fable 3.

To be honest, what annoyed me above all else in Fable 2 was how the gameplay changed from the first.  The game just felt a lot lighter.  I appreciate that it was because they tried making the game simpler, and I'm not saying it controlled awfully, but it just wasn't as much fun as the first one was to play.
 
I realise this diary doesn't deal with my problem, I just want to let it be known that Fable 3 has to do more than let me 'reach out and touch my girlfriend' for me to want to buy it brand new.  At the moment, it seems like the gameplay has barely changed at all - though I'll be keeping an eye out for new dev diaries to see whether or not my issue gets addressed.

Fuck i'm sold on fable as a thing....again. damn you peter!!!
