Hot diggity dang if this is true I'm all for it. Maybe we could even get VC2!
EDIT:
Sega has confirmed that Valkyria Chronicles is coming to PC.
Game » consists of 13 releases. Released Apr 22, 2008

You too can see the horrors of war as witnessed by anime kids.
Actually it's a good game, despite the disposable nature of the female characters in it (WMDs are now plot macguffin anime babes).
That says it was released 11 days ago...
The PS3-version date doesn't match any of the real release dates either so I wouldn't fret that.
If this does come to the PC it'll be a pretty damn random pull from Sega.
People are saying that this is part of SEGAs push to get their shit on PC, with Kamiya hanging out at Valve recently.

It's been a long time since I've played the game, but I don't remember the plot macguffin anime babes being disposable, even if they did fill the roles of WMDs. Is there something I'm missing? Remember to spoiler tag specifics. I don't think anything you've said so far should have been in spoiler tags, but it does get close to that territory.
If so this would be great. even if a lot of them seem like bad ports it's nice to see Japanese developers experimenting with the pc market
Pretty excited about this, hopefully if VC is released on Steam or something more people will be able to experience this gem. More importantly, if Sega ports the whole series to the PC maybe the 3rd game will finally get officially localized. One can only hope.
@viciousanchovy: It's a little too specific I think for this thread, but the most credible villain is just removed for no particular reason other than she's an object of warfare as opposed to being a person.
Nice surprise. I can now continue my archiving of console games to my PC with perhaps my favorite PS3 game. Can't wait.
I'm not usually one to be all pressed about 60fps/1080p and all that, but Valkyria Chronicles might just be my #1 favorite game and I would totally buy it again if it came to PC.

Well, they're guns and tanks and jets and battleships too so why not?
EDIT: Oh yeah, and fucking best thing ever everyone should buy this fucking game
@starvinggamer: Well if they didn't go for a WW2 setting I think that would work fine, it's just very jarring in this case. It doesn't diminish the game because the gameplay is awesome and there's some amount of hilarity to how happy the characters are after they've killed hundreds of people (that's every game though).
EDIT: FFT is better and also more grounded in reality despite being in a fantasy universe.
While they're porting it to PC they might as well just throw it on PSN / Xbox Live for next-gen consoles. Riiiight?
A man can dream.
I actually wouldn't be that surprised if this happened. There's been a lot of out of nowhere ports recently and they all make the idea of VC coming to PSN / Xbox Live sound relatively uneventful. Even though it kind of would be.
oh God, let it be that they put all 3 out on PC... never got around playing 2 an 3 because i never had a psp and got absolutely 0 intention of ever getting a vita, I can't even imagine how terribly those have sold being a psp exclusive...
You seem to be forgetting how terribly the first game sold and how PSP crazy Japan was at the time. I seem to recall the Japanese launch week sales of VC2 doing better than the North American lifetime sales of VC1.
@mosespippy: I actually didn't know that, well more than enough reason for them to get that thing on PC then, even if it's just the first one, people need to play that game man, so good.
I hope this is real. I'd love to see a pc port just so I'd have reason to play it again. And yeah, it'd be nice seeing it's sequels too, but that may be stretching it.
This game is great and I'd love more people to have the opportunity to play it. I really hope this is true!
Well, fuck. I just bought this for my PS3 a month ago, but would much rather have had it in my PC library.
I've always meant to play this game... Just never got the motivation to buy the damn thing. If it comes to PC then it's a click away from entering my backlog...
I'd be in ... VC is one of the few PS3 game I always wanted to play. Touch it up a little, release it ... sold.
I've always wanted to play this game after playing the demo for hours. I always thought of picking it up but gamestop has it for like 30$ still. I'd pick up a pc port more than likely
$30 is kinda crazy considering I got it from Gamestop for $20 like 5 years ago.
They should bring over the rest while they are at it. Always wanted to play the second game. Also bring over Skies of Arcadia Legends please!
I don't want to stereotype but possible bad port incoming.
I sorta bought a PS3 so I could play the first game (among other things), so a PC port doesn't do a whole lot for me. I'll start paying attention when they tell me they're bringing over VC 3 and localizing it in English.
