    I cannot beat the blasted Desert Mission.  Its driving me absolutly crazy.  My characters are constantly being picked off by snipers which forces me to procede with caution which in turn makes the mission last too long and I fail due to not having enough turns.  Does anyone have any advice for me?

    What I do is put two snipers at the two deployment slots at the right and use them to pick off the snipers, then make them run behind the wall behind them to avoid them getting sniped. At the left side I use scouts to pick off the lancers and then make them hide behind walls. Scouts are you're friend in this one. Also, aim for the head!

    I tried that, but my snipers get picked off before they can finish off the other snipers. Grr.  This is making me so mad.

    Scouts you say???  Hmm.  I might have to do that.  I don't normally use a ton of scouts in the level.  That might work.

    What levels are your squad members? You may just be a bit under leveled.

    That's the next one (that awful awful one). 
     
    @The_Shanimal:  The map is pretty big so scouts have the movement points and accuracy to deal with most threats along the way. Also if there is any cover make sure to use it since it nulls the instant headshots from the snipers. Use Welkin's tank as cover as well. And to save you the frustration, at the very top left of the map, there's a sniper hiding behind a corner wall.

    Which part are you talking about?
    The first section was easy, the one in the above guide, the one that got me for a while was the one with that darn tank.
     
    I got it after a while, but I used about 2 rocket guys, a few rifle, then about 2 snipers, maybe a few machine gunners. 
    The 2 rockets just attacked the tank, took me ages to realise, I needed to move out of the way to enable a cut scene of the tank over charging, after that it was easy enough.
