Today is April 26th, the original release date for Uncharted 4 before it got pushed back to May 10th....and my copy has apparently already shipped. My friend also tells me some people have already gotten their copies. Lots of people. So that means this is real. Hell, Amazon didn't even charge me yet.

@humanity: Doubt it. Publications will still be bound by embargoes while the lucky few who got their copy can stream and talk freely. Shitty situation for them to be in, honestly.

Wellp, good thing it's only around two weeks from it's release. Didn't even realize it's that close now. Gonna take that strangling vacation to Italy while waiting.

Given how much Naughty Dog seems to lightly lightly over their products, you have to wonder about not IF there any heads rolling right now, but just how many.

Those embargos dont include any copies you bought legitimately from a retailer.

That's what I'm wondering. Why else would they push it back if it's ready to ship? Unless there's some kind of fiscal quarter thing they're trying to position into (I know jack all about that stuff).

Mine says the same thing, but until I get a tracking # i'll be skeptical (I'm in the US fwiw).

@rethla: That's not even close to true. However, someone who isn't under NDA at the same publication, could -in theory- cover it.It's all about how the NDA is written.

@l4wd0g: The retailer you buy from doesnt include any embargo in the deal so you are free to do whatever you want with it.

If somebody would have asked me when this game was coming out I would have said, "I don't know, October?" I'm not sure if I'm just less informed than I used to be, or if this just doesn't have quite the fanfare other Naughty Dog games have.

I don't think anybody is going to go to court over a review embargo. Most they'll do if it's broken is not send early copies in the future--something they're not obligated to do anyway. If you're out there tracking down early copies to publish footage from, the publisher probably won't take too kindly to that. My impression is a review embargo is more of a "hey, please don't be a jerk, we're trusting you with this early copy" type thing.

@hatking: Well, the game was supposed to come out last fall, but it's been delayed several times. As for the lack of excitement, I think it's because it's the fourth one of these games, and at this point we know what to expect. I think it'll be a fun game, and I'll definitely play it, but it's hard to act super pumped about it. I kinda felt the same way about Dark Souls III until right before that game was coming out, and ended up loving that game. Hoping for a similar experience here.

I don't think a review embargo and an NDA are the same thing.

I just got an email a minute ago from Amazon saying "hey this game got delayed until May 10". I guess they caught it late

It's great people have got their hands on this early and all (for them, at least), but it kind of saddens me that those who can't get it are likely going to have it spoilt for them.
