I just played uncharted 1 and 2 back to back and oddly enough the overall story in both games is eerily similar. 
 
1. Nathan Drake and crew decide to search for mystical treasure 
 
2. Bad guy also wants treasure   
 
3. Apparently said treasure was cursed and affected those who found it first resulting in strange mutations. (zombies in uncharted 1, blue guys in uncharted 2) 
 
4.  Now we can't take the treasure with us or it will destroy the world 
 
5. Defeat bad guy and leave treasure buried forever. 
 
All in all I enjoyed the journey during the two games but I think I took the same trip twice. I'll have to talk to talk to my travel agent about this :-)

Yes, it's a formula, but you could say that about EVERY adventure movie concerning tomb raiders. It's about execution.
