The name of the game is football not soccer
Uefa European Football Championship is a football tournament that is played every 4 years in Europe this year it was hosted by Switzerland and Austria. EA Sports has yet again produced another good football game follow the success of FIFA 08.
There is no major changes in graphics or gameplay in UEFA Euro 2008 compared to FIFA 08 but there is some new features like Captain Your Country its like Be A Pro Mode where u can create your own player in FIFA 2008 but this time instead of just playing one friendly match you can play the whole tornament as your created player. If you put in a few good performances for your selected country during the qualification of the tournament you could be made captain of your country when you reach the tournament.
Other features in the game is Story Of Qualifying is the chance to relive the highs and lows of the qualifying round of UEFA Euro 2008 you can recreate or change history in a number of scenarios taken from the real qualifying campaign and if you complete all of the levels you unlock scenarios from the last European tournament UEFA 2004 which was held in Portugal.
There is a new weather mecanic in the game that produce rain which can creates sloppy, muddy pitches which dramatically impacts passing (i.e the ball get stuck in the mud) and player performance, this is not he first time in a EA Sports football game there have included rain but this is the first time it impacts the gameplay and you will need to change your style of play like instead of passing the ball across the ground you may need to do a few long ball (passing the ball in the air).
The graphics in the game are good but it does still look like FIFA 08 but with smoother animation and first time in a EA Sports football game you can control the celebration of the player who scored the goal.
There is some change in multiplayer you can still play 1 vs 1 against another player in the world but you can play a tournament called the Euro Online Knockout Cup is where u can join a 16 team knockout cup and try to win it for your country.
Despite it not being a full game like the FIFA francise it is still a enjoyable game with interesting new features which I hope they put in the next FIFA game the only problem I have is the price £49.99 if you have the choice i recommend FIFA 08 you get more international teams which also include club teams and for a much cheaper price.
