    A trophy is an award received in-game for the successful accomplishment of some task or event. The PS3 also has a system of awarding trophies that is distinct from specific trophies awarded in-game that emulates the Xbox 360's achievement system.
     
    In-game trophies are most likely seen in sports games as they attempt to recreate the real life spectacle of major sporting events. However, they can be found in many other gaming genres.
