Anyone else hoping Tokyo Jungle makes it out of Japan? Every time I read more information about it, it just gets crazier. Playing as a Pomeranian? Fighting dinosaurs?! Now we learn you can equip your elephant with roller skates so it moves faster? I WANT THIS SO BAD. Just look at the cover art! I'd buy it just for that.
Tokyo Jungle
Game » consists of 5 releases. Released Jun 07, 2012
An action game set in post-apocalyptic Japan where the human race has inexplicably disappeared, leaving wild animals to reclaim the planet.
Elephants on roller skates!? Localize this game already....
Someone on the EU PSN twitter said it's coming over here, no word on an NA release.
But yes, this is actually GOTY 2012 material.

New trailer:Elephant sex at 00:16?
Probably! I believe the animal you control can mate and have children.
@ImmortalSaiyan: Essentially, you play as an animal trying to survive in a post-apocalyptic Tokyo that is devoid of humans and now taken over by animals big and small. And there are dinosaurs. I'm guessing part of the goal is to discover what happened to the humans and why the hell there are dinosaurs. You have to hunt and get food and water to survive. You can play as different animals such as Pomeranian, cat, and deer and I believe they each have their own storyline. There's info on some of the gameplay mechanics here. Andriasang has lots of info on it but it's broken up into news updates so it's hard to follow. Seems like there is a lot going on in this game though. It could be terrible but it certainly looks refreshingly different and hilarious! EDIT: Actually, the GB wiki page for the game has good information, I'd recommend that.
@pekoe212: If it gets released in EU on Disc, you can import right off the bat as there's no region locking on games on the PS3.
If it's released on PSN, that's a bit harder as you'd need either UK PSN cards or a British CC to order it, which sucks.

Despite the absence of a pomeranian guest appearance at Sony's E3 2012 press conference, the company's delightfully bizarre-looking Tokyo Jungle is indeed headed to PlayStation Network in North America and Europe. A press release this week confirmed the EU release, and Sony VP of product development and worldwide studios Scott Rohde told us in an interview this week that the "wacky" internally developed PSN game will indeed arrive in North America as well.

So does this mean Europe isn't getting a disc release? This sounds like the kind of game I wouldn't mind having on disc if it's out there and not that pricey a la the PS3 Ape Escape.

I doubt it would sell enough copies to offset distribution and printing the discs? Oh well, if not going digital would mean not getting released, I'll go with digital.

Same here, just curious. Oh well, a digital Tokyo Jungle is much better than no Tokyo Jungle!
I just watched this video at Gamespot http://www.gamespot.com/features/in-japan-a-newborn-chicken-can-defeat-a-pride-of-lions-6383638/
Does anyone have any idea when is this being released in the West?
