    You broke my heart... 2

The first Godfather game for last gen consoles definitely had enough unique mechanics to seperate it from the long list of GTA clones that plagued the PS2 and Xbox.  It certainly didn't hurt to have the license to one of the greatest movie franchises, but EA managed to make a game good enough to stand on its own merits.  With the Godfather 2, the differentiation was to be even greater and, on paper, it should have far surpassed its predecessor.  However, unpolished gameplay, graphics, and story ...

    The Godfather II Review 0

Back when the current generation of consoles were still dubbed 'next gen', EA dared to release a game based on one of the highest rated movies of all time, The Godfather. The game fared reasonably well and offered the novelty of being one of the first open world games available on a Xbox 360. It shouldn't be much of a surprise that EA returned with a sequel based on The Godfather part II they've taken the focus a little more towards strategy to set itself apart from its open world brethren. The ...

It was all... just business. Play that epic trumpet. 2

I'll admit before I start this review: I never saw Godfather Part II. According to Wikipedia, this game is based off of that movie. Ok, I'll let Wikipedia say that it is. I'm here reviewing a game anyway, and not a movie. So I'll get right into things.  The Godfather II starts off in Havana, Cuba during the year 1958. You play as Dominic. You have no last name. I guess you're just cool that way. The game lets you make a custom character, and the amount of choices are really nice. You can make yo...

Not bad, but not great, just right! 0

Gameplay:The game play of GF2 dosnt bring a lot of new things to the table that part 1 didn't already have. I like the new Don View and the ability to send crew members to take care of task while you work on certain things yourself. I also like the RPG element of being able to advance your crew members, to make them better through out the game. That being said, there is a lot more they could have done to make the game have a better storyline, like the first one did. They could have done a lot mo...

The flaws don't much get in the way of the fun, but they're there 0

ProsLight strategy elements improve what would otherwise be a rehash of the first game.Executions are satisfying.ConsI don't consider myself a graphics whore, but GFII's visuals do look somewhat dated.Building layouts are reused with very little change, making the taking over of businesses and rackets somewhat dull after awhile.Difficulty connecting and staying connected to online gamesIn comparison to the first game, the character creator is somewhat lacking. Before playing the first Godfather g...

Video Review: Better Than It Probably Should Be 0

Link, embedding isn't workingI know it's EA. I know it's a licensed EA title. But I need you to believe me when I say The Godfather 2 is a very fun game. If you're into open world games with an interest in crime rings, shaking down fronts and reeling in cash for your family, you'll love Godfather 2....

Awful adaption of a classic film; enjoyable enough as a game 0

As something with the official Don Corleone stamp of approval slapped on top of it, The Godfather 2 is such a horrible bastardisation that fans won’t know whether to laugh or cry at its thinly veiled attempt to keep itself true to the source material. It’s just a terrible mess. The story is all over the place, in no way in keeping with the plot of the films or of the book; most of the characters sound nothing like their movie counterparts; some of the major characters don’t even look the same ...

An offer I can refuse 0

What I lovedThe family - I loved how you had a hierarchy of family members that you can equip, upgrade and so on... Their voice strings adds a lot when introduced to new missions and tasks. They respond well and I feel very much like a leader when ordering them around. The business - To gradually take over the town isn't too hard, unfortunately, but it's still fun to take a couple of made men and head to a strip club and take over the racket and then setting up guards to protect it from counter a...

    A Sith Reviews: The Godfather 2 0

I turn my gaze upon EA Redwood Shores' final game under that moniker (Renamed Visceral Games, maker of games like The Sims 3, and Dante's Inferno), The Godfather 2. Released in Spring 2009 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC, The Godfather 2 is a third person sandbox shooter with real time strategy elements set in Havana, Cuba, New York City, New York, and Miami, Florida. The game is loosely based off of the movie donning the same name written and directed by Francis Ford Coppola in 1974....

    Godfather 2 Review 0

Godfather 2 is the sequel the the game of the same name minus the number, based on the movie franchise. You will be heading up the organization trying to take out the competition while at the same time make sure your pockets are lined with money. As the game goes on you'll be able to add to your crew to make your organization stronger, and your ability to take out the opposition, easier.Godfather 2 looks a bit better than the first Godfather, but if you look real close you'll notice that almost ...

    A waste of a good licence 0

I quite enjoyed the first game, yes it got repetitive but it was enjoyable none the less. This game however is appalling, it feels like it was thrown together in a couple of months by people with no pride in what they do. One improvement over the first should have been the henchmen, this time round you get to train them up and they feel more like a crew and less like a gang of random A.I as they did in the first game. The problem is the A.I is awful, they have more comedy value than anything ...

Vast Improvement Over the Original 0

The original Godfather game was a good idea that had some serious issues with execution. The game dragged on far too long, the difficulty became a bit comical, and there was nothing much to do outside of the somewhat repetitive gameplay. Visually, it DID look better than the same game on previous generation consoles, but it wasn't terribly impressive. The sequel sought to correct the errors. Did it follow the real movie series and have a sequel that was better than the original?Actually, ...

This is a great game. Its so much better than the first GodFather. The best part about this game is the new executions. There so violent but  there great.Alot of people are complaining about all of the glitches in this game,I havent seen any  glitches yet but if i do its not going to change my opinion on this game.I will admit thought that the driving in this game isent  that good but who cares. The shooting in this is  just like the first GodFather but th guns are much different and better. Godfather II - Review 1

After a short delay in it's release date Godfather II is taking over stores today. Godfather II follows events from the great film of the same name, released in 1974. It tells of a mob war amongst several families and is played out in 3 locations. New York City, Florida and Cuba.Based on the source material, Godfather 2 has an interesting story to tell but whether or not you will stick around to hear it is another thing. What Godfather 2 has to offer is a very satisfying sense of control of your ...

The Godfather 2? More like just The Godfather! 0

The game offers basically the same experience as the original game, however having said that it is dull and uninspiring, lacking no form of attractive storytelling. The game basically throws you into the city and tells you to take it over, occasionally giving the odd story mission here and there but in general it is a disappointment and not worth a full price game. I would recommend that if you have played the original that this game offers very little to you, especially when taken into consider...

Thought I was getting the godfather and got Mickey Blue Eyes 0

This game's environment really makes you feel like they needed to cut down the size of the rooms.  Large rooms no people.  Game play is lackluster hodgepodge of  bad GTA 3 and a RTS overall view or Don View.  Dialog is barebones and has no soul.  Avoid this at all cost.......

Godfather 2 Review. Unlike the movie, it's not a great sequal 0

The Godfather was known as a masterpiece in film, and it was followed up by yet another masterpiece which set the stage for sequels in cinema. Now, the Godfather was released to generally positive reviews and was a very enjoyable game, so where did they go wrong with the sequel?    Like the first Godfather game, you'll create your own character, drive around a city, and beat the crap out of people your protecting for money. You'll be doing this all over again, but this time you get to do it ...

    Just another GTA clone... 0

The Godfather 2 takes the same general open world concepts found in Grand Theft Auto games, but does little to innovate or provide exciting gameplay. The story is loosely based on that of the second Godfather film, yet obviously takes liberties in order to make it gel into objectives fit for the game. They’ll rob some lines and scenes from the film, but the alterations in the game eliminate any of the emotional impact found from the classic film. It doesn’t matter too much though; the game hard...

Godfather 2 is a different kind of tykoon game 0

It has been a while since we last a game based on a movie in which Al Pacino has starred. Remember Scarface: The World is Yours? It was all about taking over Miami by taking businesses from gangs and other drug lords and then, of course, washing drug money trough them. But in the beginning of 2006. few moths earlier before the release of the previously mentioned game  a game published by no one other than Electronic Arts saw the daylight - The Godfather. It was a descent addition to the free-roa...

    The Godfather II 0

The Godfather II (the game, this is, not the movie) fails in many ways  to capture the spirit of the films and instead offers up some tedious action with healthy portions of strategy. You play as Dominic, who you can style to your every whim. My Dominic looked like a cheap 80s softcore porn star, with healthily vibrant handlebars, lightly cropped afro, and suave threads.Unfortunately, the Mobface creation tool was one of the better things about The Godfather II, which ultimately fails to immerse...

The Godfather II is a very solid and fun sandbox game. 0

The Godfather II is a sandbox action game from EA Redwood Shores, where you take up the role of Dominic, a Corleone mafia Don, and start your own family in New York, later Florida and Cuba. Graphics wise, the game looks OK. I would compare it to Saints Row 2, it looks about as good as that, which means that it's not amazing, nor is it bad looking, just OK. The strategic element of the game - Don's View works great. You get all the right information about targets, rackets, and families that you c...
