    When a character swings a sword and some sort of light, wind, or some other form of energy is flung forward. The attack can act as a useful ranged attack in melee-focused games.

    The Legend of Zelda

    The Legend of Zelda has used this concept from the very first game. Link must often be a full health.

    In The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, the player must hold the Wii Remote straight up to charge the beam.

    Dark Souls 3

    Yhorm the Giant is weak against the Storm Ruler, which when charged, emits a beam of wind.
