History
The brainchild of a group of developers called Tri-Ace. The group split off from Wolf Team (now Namco Tales Studio) after a schism formed about the direction of future games in the Tales series after the team finished making Tales of Phantasia. Tri-Ace wanted to introduce player choice elements into the gameplay itself, and with their first post-Phantasia release, did so. The game introduced a "private actions" system that functioned like a social link system, where the main character's choices throughout the story and decisions made with other characters could lead to different endings.
