Having had a chance to play this game at PAX last weekend, I have to agree.
In fact, I found it to be kind of a sleeper hit on the show floor, as everyone was caught up with Left 4 Dead 2 and the other, more prominent hits.
But honestly, I'm as excited for Split/Second as I am for anything else I saw at PAX.

Also, I thoroughly enjoyed the studio's previous game, PURE.
Expect good things here.  This should turn out to be an excellent, if slightly unorthodox, racing game.

The game sounds awesome.  When ever the demo comes out, I'll give it a shot.

I played it at PAX as well, and I kind of saw it as a more serious Mario Kart. that said, my initial impression was that there didn't seem to be a lot of depth, and may not warrant a day one purchase. If I saw some menus and different cars and tracks, that might put me at ease.

I was surprised by the game, I'm looking forward to it (they said PC release as well, woo). I probably won't have to purchase it if they release it on Steam but if I do they did give me a $5 off voucher for Amazon.com
