Overview
Skirts can be made of a large variety of materials and can be a large variety of lengths. The shortest of skirts are referred to as mini-skirts and are often seen as objects of
sexualisation, while longer skirts tend to be more associated with elegance. Skirts may be worn over leggings, tights, shorts, or other similar items of clothing. Many school uniforms incorporate pleated skirts; skirts with folds along the fabric, and such skirts are usually black or grey in appearance. Skirts should of course not be confused with
hotpants or
dresses.
