3 minutes in, this is already terrific.

I wonder if they plan on doing Super C next? I just watched a playthrough of that one and realized that while I did beat the game when I was a kid, the later stages did not stick in my memory like the stages in the original Contra. I remember the end boss, but a lot of the stuff between the second stage and the final boss felt completely new. Also, the stages are longer than Contra's, and I'm not sure if they're as fun.

I've been dreaming of Vinny-Dan content ever since Dan was hired. It may have taken a while, but now that we're finally getting it on a regular basis, I must say they have exceeded my wildest expectations. This series in particular has been absolutely amazing.

Good stuff, guys. A suggestion for the next game... I know it is similar to Contra, but Sunset Riders would be hilarious to see. I know there is some content in that game that is a bit offensive by today's standards... but it was a fun game at the time (I played the Genesis version).

Also... an old Ren and Stimpy Genesis game that forced you to work together to do combo moves to platform and defeat enemies, would also be great. It is called Ren and Stimpy: Stimpy's Invention.

This would be a good feature to finally show off Zombies Ate My Neighbors on this site. I loved playing that game co-op as a kid but I could never finish it.

The last level is such a letdown in terms of difficulty. It's probably the second easiest side-scrolling level in the game.

Also echoing the love of Dan/Vinny. I was afraid their goofiness combined was going to be too much, but they play off of each other perfectly.

"This game's kinda great. Any game that can make me feel like this; just nervous and twitchy like this, it's doing something right.

And that, my friends, is why having limited lives and continues is a legit design decision. A thousand people posting that old NES games like Contra are cheap and designed like arcade games meant to kill you and steal your quarters and you should just cheat because it's so impossible and whatever, will never overcome the actual elation felt by people who do it legit, and win.
