All I know about those human sized plastic hamster ball things is that there are a bunch of videos on the internet of them rolling off a cliff and the person/people inside of them dying.

I don't think I've ever tried a Bioware game that was fun to play. Between Jade Empire, the Dragon Age series and Mass Effect they have tried all sorts of different systems and none of them felt good. I'm not expecting that from Andromeda either, but maybe the change in studio will help.

The story stuff is weird too. It's never both a good main story and good characters. It's one or the other. Jade Empire and Dragon Age were probably the closest to having both, but they also had the combat systems I liked the least. So for me, a Bioware game is always a big compromise where I have to put up with a lot of crap for some parts I very much like. That's why it triggers such a flow of complaints and discussions, I think. The compromises are diferent for everyone, and the only thing people will agree on is that the hair sucks, the animations are ugly and the environments in Inquisition are beautiful.

The tri screen laptop isn't really aimed at the average consumer.

As a multimedia person, I can see this being useful for film/photo editing work or modeling if you are moving frequently from location to location. You would never use this on a plane or in a public place, but rather in offices you are moving between or bouncing between home office and work.

When they were trying to determine the most famous ska band of all time, I have no doubt that they were forgetting someone.

Ska has always been this nebulous genre for me - I never fully understood what it was. And I had an Old Dan mindset that whatever it was (I assumed some kind of punk/metal offshoot) I wouldn't like it. The podcast inspired me to google it, and I ultimately landed on an album called God Bless Satan by Mephiskapheles. First of all, that's got to win for best ska band name. But more importantly, the album itself is also quite amazing. I think I love it. Thanks beast crew, for expanding my horizons a bit.

@w00master: I haven't tried any of the KOTOR games. I did watch part of a let's play of the first one, but it was pretty dull after a while. Granted, I'm not a big Star Wars fan.

Im the sort of person who likes Dragon Age series, but dislikes Mass Effect. When I'm watching this new trailers for ME, I'm "kinda" hyped for what DA can be. I see an interesting and new engine, and that's almost enough for me.

Edit: also the mid-90s swing revival muddies the water of boiling down ska as having a horn section. But it's worth keeping in mind, swing revival is terrible, ska is generally pretty good.

Here's the thing... Trico's best trait is the one that makes him so frustrating: his animalistic AI. It's a weird feeling when you watch something that you marvel at, but at no point do I ever want to PLAY that game. Idk about you but a video game where my I know I'd dislike playing it doesn't sound like a good time.

It begs the question how many people are stupid enough to try them near a cliff.

I was wondering the same thing.

Bioware games bother me because I feel like they're all the same. Your character always travels to different locations, doing missions and picking up followers at each location. There are pauses between locations in the form a vehicle or camp site. Between locations, you talk to your followers, get their backstory which you get another piece of after every mission you finish. Eventually you romance one (or two) of them. Any conversation choices you have are morally good, neutral or bad.

Bonus feature for sequels: The villain from the first game becomes your party member in the sequel.

While I enjoyed Inquisition, "old Bioware" is miles better than what New Bioware is capable of making. I mean, their writers are still pretty good, but the "barely an RPG/more like a so-so action game" gameplay of their past few titles has turned me off more than anything.
