Holy hell could this one turn into a massive "We are sorry, we respect all religions and did not mean to imply anyone's beliefs are not to be respected and valued" corrections at the top of next weeks show.

Not sure if there is a big Wicca community among the GB fan-base but I know a few myself who would find the entire discussion around witchcraft/wizardry to be extraordinarily offensive. I doubt they meant it to be, but I highly suspect at least a few corrections in next weeks show will be sent trying to address the issue.

Witches are like Vampires, they don't exist and can be like whatever you want.

It wouldn't mind seeing a MTG "Unplugged" feature/stream of some sort. Or any tabletop stuff for that matter.

A good way to tell if such a thing were true is this: Does the podcast have like 500 comments? If no, then nothing shocking or upsetting to the Giant Bomb community was said.

As of the time I type this, there are 19 comments, so without having listened to the podcast at all, I can say with high confidence that everything is business as usual.

To whoever was asking about where to get in on wrestling, if your willing to pay for the network(or if you already pay for Hulu because its on there as well) Maybe just watch NXT if you want to go the WWE route, the main roster product is not worth the 2 to 5 hours of your life a week.

@heelbill: That game is really good. I am a fan of Total war games and when that came out I was excited with the possibility of having hero units capable of decimating entire units. Since Rome II they added Agents like special hero capable of granting experience to your troops though they wouldnt be in combat, and now they can in TW:Warhammer II. (I like that game very much)

This is immediately what I thought of when that Kaepernick news came out.

Maybe the people picking the music don't care about football that much, maybe there are so many hundreds of names in the NHL that the lyric didn't stand out, maybe they arn't deep into rap music, maybe they're unaware of the Capernick situation.
Doesn't seem that crazy to me.

@bladededge: There is certainly a distinction between witches and non-witches in fiction. Harry Potter uses the term "Muggle." Sabrina The Teenage Witch made drew a huge distinction between witches and "mortals," and that's what Abby's talk of this game reminded me of that: a difference between a witch realm and a mortal/"normal human" realm. That the game makes the distinction of witch/human is interesting. But I've never before heard people argue that (even fictional) witches aren't humans. For one thing, I can think of one instance in Harry Potter where witches and wizards are explicitly stated as being human. Witches are just people with power that most/normal/mortal/etc. humans don't have.

When you get into the fact that there are real people who follow certain religions that identify as witches, then obviously that's a different story.

I need to watch the end of Mario Party Party 5 again.

@bladeofcreation: That was what I was getting at mostly. The conversation turned in a direction that felt too me like, I dunno. If they had had a long joking discussion about how 'faith isn't real, prayer doesn't work duh" mixed with "Are people who believe in god and pray human?" I know I'd have felt insulted.

I don't mean to speak for a religion/group I am not a part of. I just know I've a few friends over the years who are Wiccan who have spoken about off-handed comments and assumptions made about them/their beliefs that the pod-casts' conversation reminded me of.

I feel the opposite, I wish they were already putting stuff up. It just seems weird to me that the people on the video game website are playing a game together in order to get ready for content and not filming/streaming that. I think last week Abby made a reference to Vinny being a bad driver in GTA and I felt like I had missed out on something.

Just wanna give a shout to Vinny real quick: loved the update on the GTA feature. I don't think this sort of in-depth explanation is necessary for every series, but in this case I think it was great to get out there and just say, "Yes, we are doing this. Here's why you haven't seen it yet." Getting some "inside baseball" on such a tricky series to get recorded is pretty cool!
