The Spyro games hold up very well. They are really good mostly relaxing games about going around collecting a bunch of stuff. Good to see they did a great job with the remasters.

Wow this is how you remaster a game.

This is a fantastic remaster. I've been consistently blown away by the level of detail and personality in all the new designs and animations and the games themselves hold up exceedingly well.

The message to everyone who loves video games from GiantBomb is to always expect an experience with lots of fun and don't ever want something different. Playing a game where you might not do something meaningful for 5 minutes? What a travesty!! Playing a game where you might not have fun all the time or ever because the game is not interested in entertaining you? What the hell!

Gamers have spoken. We like our video games because they are toys. We want every game to hold our hands and we never ever ever want to do something mundane (which could lead to character building or world building) for more than 5 minutes. We just want games where you are gratified every second of every minute. Don't ever give us anything different.

We are children and we never want to grow up. How dare some games trying to give us something different. How freaking dare they!!! We only accept mindless shooters or platformers with minimal stories.

Really enjoyed the Spyro games. The demos were some of my first gaming experiences on the PS1. Hoping they come to pc or switch so I can replay the series.

Graphics don't look that different from the original. That being said, I'll buy it when it hits pc.

Modern Mario games are definitely collect-a-thons, if you aren't getting all the stars/star coins you're doing it wrong.

As someone who grew up playing pretty much every other 3D platformer but Spyro, this is a helluva fun remaster. Glad it exists!

I never gave a shit about Spyro in my life but this looks freaking awesome.

Seems to have more loading than I expected but otherwise looks great.

Holy moly, I am completely loving this art direction and character designs, there seems to be put a lot of love in to this. I might get this when all the other video games are behind me.

How does Dan know more about the Lord of the Rings films than Vinny, when Vinny said he thought they were a movie trilogy right up there with Indiana Jones 1-3 and Star Wars 4-6.

I like me some Spyro, but Ratchet and Clank 1-3 are even better.

As someone who doesn't own any of the current gen consoles, and loved the first three Spyro games I really really hope this comes to PC.

Spyro was my Mario 64, it was the first series I really got into as a young kid with a PS1. Been really enjoying going back and playing these; the art looks beautiful. Hopefully it sells well and Activision will give a green-light for a new one to be made similarly to the original trilogy - nice bright 3D levels that take advantage of the space (with the gliding, swimming ect).

I never played these myself, but this looks great. Really liking the visual look of the games.

I never played any of these games and only played the Crash Bandicoot games when I went round a friend's house. This looks like a really well made remaster.

Meanwhile, in Spyro 1, every single gem that drops from an enemy/chest or is laying around the environment is required, not only the Dragons and Dragon eggs.

Mario Odyssey might be the closest the series have gotten to that kind of collect-a-thon territory and even then not every coin that drops is a unique collectable.

@jacksukeru: Seems pretty semantic, Mario games don't have the same quantity of collectibles but the real meat and challenge of the games is finding and collecting things just the same.

As you say, these things are loosely defined and it's subjective in the end but I definitely stand the other side of the fence.

Goddamn this looks great! Big-time nostalgia candy for me, just bought this after watching lol. Never had a PS 1/2 as a kid, but had many a good time at a buddy's house down the street playing Spyro. Going back and forth between this and Red Dead should be... interesting.
