I'm indecisive on whether or not I should get this game. Naughty Dog hired a white woman to play a black woman in the game and I just think that is a terrible thing to do. Great quick look, overall. But man, I'm still sad they did that.

I don't think the ludonarrative dissonance argument against GTA IV is as rock solid as everyone thinks it is.

We're all the same, no predjudice, right? White, black... what does it matter?

It's a fair criticism but in this case they hired Bailey before they knew what the character was going to look like. One of the concept artist drew the character she was going to play as a black women and they thought it was a good idea. They had discussions about it and decided to try out how it would fit and in the end they kept it because they thought that Bailey did an amazing job. I think that's totally fine but I do agree that it is a topic which warrants discussion.

Oh and by the way all of you who are going with the "but we're all the same in the end" and "shouldn't they pick the best person?" spiel are making a terrible argument.

After two Dark Souls 3 play throughs this is exactly what I need.

I'm not sure I can swallow linear cutscene driven games anymore. I tried playing Rise of the Tomb Raider but I really just did not care about anything that was going on. I guess it didn't help that the gameplay was pretty mundane.

I'll try this on sale though.

@mike123jen: I buy this complaint for live action but it's irrelevant to me for animated works. As mentioned above, black men have played white men before and brunettes have played blondes. Troy Baker would NEVER play Joel in a film version of The Last of Us but his voice (or, a version of his voice anyway) matches the art they designed for that character perfectly.

I realize you're likely not asking that Sucker Punch track down the worlds only English-speaking raccoon if they ever reboot Sly Cooper but it's an odd slope to go down IMO.

Looks as boring as all the other Uncharted games, never understood what people see in this series.

i wouldn't say they're boring but they don't deserve nearly half the hype they get.

Xbox owner last gen, haven't played the past 3. I'll wait until that's approx. $30 CAD until I get this one.

I have never played but always felt blah on the Uncharted games.

...but I really liked the 2013 Tomb Raider reboot that everyone compared to it.

Yea same here, I've never had any issues with these running poorly. They've always ran fine for me.

This looks legit fun as fuck. I really, really wish Sony would go the route Microsoft is trying now and bring some of the 1st party PS games to PC. I would have a fucking blast playing this on a PC. But sadly, that's not going to happen :(

ND are wizards when it comes to the technical aspects of their games. Man this looks good.

@drew327: Believe it or not, some people genuinely don't like Uncharted games and aren't saying so just to be contrarian. I find them boring from a gameplay perspective. Most of the time you're just slowly walking around and occasionally holding triangle. The main focus in these games are presentation and graphics, which are indeed impressive but don't necessarily make it fun. They also become less impressive over time, but great gameplay is great forever. I really wish these games were just movies instead; they would be much more enjoyable that way IMO. I'd also like to point out that Jeff is not a big fan of Uncharted or TLOU. There are plenty of reasons someone might not enjoy this game.

Dan gets way to excited about jump kills. I wonder if it's beacuse he doesn't play much Assassins Creed.

It's funny to come here and see people say that they don't like this game because of the white lady doing the voice of the black lady. Not because that's not a legitimate opinion - just because I was on 4chan earlier and saw a thread about Uncharted 4 trying to "force a progressive agenda" by including a scene where said black woman character beats up Drake. We live in interesting times.

All that said, this looks like a pretty fun videogame.

I dunno. I'd rather wait for tomb raider. This'll be a great budget title in 6-8 months
