I watched a whole bunch of Trackmania over the years. But this is the first one I'll actually play it.

So good work? Even though I'll probably pop in F-Zero GX first.

And for no reason whatsoever, watching racing games here again led me back to this classic.

" There may not be any Cher remixes or car horns,"

And you got these people saying SF V is missing things.

"This is not a normal game."

The co-op Pacific Rim driving mode is the kind of craziness I'm looking for out of this game.

I've been playing this all afternoon. There are some severely silly problems with the UI not correcting itself between online matches and the customization options rely on you being able to get gold medals in races which can be stupidly hard. Other than that, it's fun.

But yeah, loads of fun! It's been the perfect antidote after a wearying session in the Dark Zone.

I've been playing this since I got home from work earlier today. Loved it! I've been wanting to play a console Trackmania and this pretty much hits that need in a great way!

Look, there is no scientific evidence that shows there is life after love. If you choose to believe there is, I have no problem with that. I'm glad if your belief helps you strive to be a better person and gives you comfort in the face of adversity.

However, were you to insist that your "life after love" doctrine be taught in schools, I would take serious issue with that. That's something that should be taught at home, or in a nightclub.

I'm really, really tempted to pick this up on PS4, but I'm hesitating as I've been burned by a few ghost-town multiplayer games lately. Might wait a week or so to see if anyone is playing on PS4 or if the only active playerbase winds up being PC (which seems likely).

Shame there's no Rocket League style cross-platform play. This is the perfect kind of game for it.

I don't understand why anyone would pick this up over Trackmania 2 for half the price. It's mostly just repackaged and remodeled content from content (other than the addition of Lagoon) from the previous game in a more restrictive shell that allows far less user creativity. The whole fun of the series for me was the ability to run custom servers with features like track rating, track voting, custom music, custom car models, and a host of other options that have been stripped to make it more 'console friendly'.

@buzz_clik:I'm both glad and disappointed it's not just me missing something stupid in the controls to get that UI to reset or go away. Hopefully they get that fixed soon.

I've been playing tons of Fallout 4 again recently and this is such a breath of fresh air after that soulless-but-proficient game. It's too bad it's missing some of the insanity from the PC versions of past Trackmanias, but they get the soul right and that's enough for me.

I like the visual look of this and the fact there's a good amount of Ed Banger tracks. Shades of Black by Breakbot is still going down a treat.

The whole fun of the series for me was the ability to run custom servers with features like track rating, track voting, custom music, custom car models, and a host of other options that have been stripped to make it more 'console friendly'.

Some people, and I'd guess a vast majority of console gaming people, don't want to interface with the act of installing custom mods like, at all. They don't even have PC's that can run Trackmania to begin with, which is why they bought a console in the first place. Those people just want a fun, colorful, arcade racing game with unlocks and leaderboards.

I think every time Jeff talks about Trackmania he really oversells it as this craaazzyyy thing. It's really not. It's a racing game with custom hud elements, a pretty free-form track editor and the ability to import custom cars. It's not like halfway through a track the game turns into a first person shooter, and then there is an 8bit Zelda level you need to pass through to get nitro boost. You just drive a car through the tracks, except there is custom music blaring out your speakers and a ton of HUD shit covering most of your screen. That stuff is fun and it really speaks to the user-made multiplayer experience, but it doesn't make the actual game - i.e. racing - any more crazy.

This is an appropriately sized down to console standards, gussied up version of Trackmania. For those that want those dubstep Cher remixes the PC version is always waiting. For everyone else, Turbo is still a pretty fun arcade racer.

Forgot this was coming out, looks awesome. I can appreciate Trackmania 2 but sometimes its even to weird for my liking. A good looking cleaner Trackmania isn't a bad thing.

I might have to get this.

As a long time TS2 player, I'd say the crazy comes from all of the custom stuff and then some of the wild user-created tracks you can find.

But Turbo looks great on consoles and they really upped the STYYYYLLLLEEEE to a degree that I love, so as long as they can bring back all the custom stuff on PC then it'll have something great for everyone.
