I bought the base Sims 4 when ig came out but the fact you have to pay hundreds for the rest of the content has stopped me from getting very far. Always wanted to get more into it but that has made it difficult

Yeah, I'm exactly the same. Got most of the Sims 3 content and just really struggling with the price point for the Sims 4 stuff.

Obviously Dirt Bike ran off to fight the xeno menace. She heard the call.

The first 3 minutes are a rollercoaster and remind me why I can never be a pet owner.

Pst, opening and running a business was added in the Get to Work expansion pack, not Cats & Dogs. Being a vet and running a vet clinic is new though.

@engineno9: Skeuth Foxer is eliminating crime and I will not have you besmirch his good name by calling him a "crime dog," my good man. We all know "crime dogs" are either terribly corrupt (McGruff) or led both leagues in home runs during their careers as a first baseman (McGriff).

The cat love is real in this Quick Look. I've missed the more deadpan comedic riffing that use to make site videos great. Alex and Abby are a darn good team for that. Thanks for the video and keep up the great work.

It is kind of upsetting they released the game and all of the expansions on the console but they aren't doing the same for the PC. I just did a cursory glance and came across with this ...

to get the game up to base you need:

sims 4 base game

sims 4 cats and dogs, get together, get to work, city living EXPANSIONS which are $40 EACH

sims 4 outdoor retreat, spa day, parenthood, dine out, vampires ADDON PACKS which are 19.99 EACH

sims 4 (insert 12 different names of "STUFF" which are 9.99 EACH) = $120

the cost of ALL of that on the PC comes out to around $420.00 without discounts

people have no idea how expensive the sims 4 is if you want to go all in, granted there really isn't a need to but you can't download half the stuff people release since they will have packs a lot of the times you won't have when trying to download stuff from the community. In short Electronic Arts is a terrible company.

So glad there's members of the team who are into covering these kinds of games now. Hopefully itll lead to more coverage of city builders and sims/tycoon games. I was always sad that my favourite game genre was probably the most underrepresented on my favourite website.

With that said, the Sims 4 is constantly disappointing for me, really hope that another studio can take a whack at a life sim some time.

Yeah this looks really great! I recently got back into Sims 4 after last time playing a bit near release. I just bought the "Get to Work" expansion since they're 60% off and I'm having fun. I'll definitely wait for a sale to get Cats & Dogs. I have to dig deep into this game since it seems like it has strong RPG & creativity possibilities!

I adored The Sims and The Sims 2, its a shame The Sims 4 feels so lacklustre in comparison.

For what it's worth, it's much cheaper if you wait for them to go on sale. For example Get Together, Get to Work and City Living are all on sale for $16 each in the current Origin sale.

I've collected most of the Sims 3 expansions over time through various sales. Great game, but probably the most massive timesink of a game ever crafted. It's like heroin, there's always one more thing to do... I also wonder how it would be to go back to a non-open world? I loved sending my sim just on like runs across the map only to have him end up somewhere and meet new sims and things.

just to note, there is a pet cemetary in the museum area.
