Way to over-complicate a relatively simple game. Just play the game there's no need for the theatrics.

Initially looking at the graphics made me think that at some point the game would turn into a Rhythm Heaven minigame.

I got this due to Dan mentioning it last week and it's pretty good. I liked Dan's explanation of the systems. He knew what he was doing illustrating how zany they are. He did it for comedic effect. I even learned a thing or two that I missed when I first played it. I really need to go in and read all those tips.

I'd pony up the money for this if I had a 3DS. It's just crazy enough for me to be interested in. I respect the hell out of games that try to be different and do a good job at making an entertaining game that I would have otherwise completely skipped out on. It's a nice reprieve from the normal onslaught of first-person shooters, MOBA's and the [rogue]likes.

From that intro, if he he hadn't said that Game Freak made it, I would have easily guessed it was Atlus.

I imagine someone got right hammered while playing a bar counter multi-game and thought "I can put these two games together!". I'm definitely checking out the demo.

Way to give people a really shitty first impression with your (admittedly humourous) "Here's the list of all of the systems you need to learn!!" bit. The game does a good job teaching you how to play, and those tips are just there as a helpful reference if you're unsure or forget something.

Game is addictive as fuck. I have played way too much of it. Might secretly be Game Freak's best game. :P

he has a point though, it seems to be bombarding you with crazy systems repeatedly right out the gate and expects you to be able to deal with them in rapid succession. i mean, it's cool if you can cope with it and all but i think it's fair for the audience to know what they're getting into.

(btw not directed at you but the joke took like 3 minutes. calm down or skip it, you don't have to pull out the pitchforks for evil Dan Ryckert just yet ; ) )

Dan is so wonderful for the first ten minutes.

All I know about horse racing comes from that episode of Game Center CX when Arino played that horse racing management sim. That made it seem horrible, but this? I may end up getting this.

Is that based on this QL or on the game? Because the game doesn't even give you that tips menu before introducing the basics. I found it pretty straightforward to understand. Yes there are deeper systems to take advantage of if you want but you can't really do stuff like optimize your horse's skills until you're way further in the game anyway.

the demo is pretty cool - shame nintendo straight up swapped the $ with £ in the store - I'm still tempted to buy it though
