Dan is the annoying older brother that always has to have the "best" character, always has to get the upgrades and "best" weapons, and always has to be the one directing everyone else.

@crimsonjester: I forget where it was, a podcast or video, where Dan mentioned that it was ALWAYS a competition, even playing co-op games with friends as a kid. Like, it didn't even occur to him to not compete ruthlessly. If there wasn't a score, it was exactly that... getting the best power-ups and health items before his friends did. It sounds insufferable haha.

It's almost like he was the lead of this quick look and had the most time playing it. First Giant Bomb video?

Meta Knight is a purple Kirby. He's so embarrassed about that that he wears a mask.

It's come up multiple times (e.g. QL: NES Classic - 58:30-1:01:30, followed in another video with Jeff saying to Brad "He thought you played Mario Bros. by screwing over the other player....", somewhere in TITR: Contra about making sure he got the best power-ups, and probably other places). Insufferable is exactly right - I think Drew put it best in Mario Party Parry (6?): "Dan is that kid you invite over to your house once, and then NEVER again" (paraphrasing).

Huh. Nintendo's take on Inside is a lot better.

Showing the weapon combo animation on every activation isn't the default option, so presumably Dan likes them enough to set them to always show.

This isn't among the best Kirby games, but it made me laugh, smile, and tear up all the same. It's adorable as hell and the elemental interactions are neat.

I wonder if they tried to get the sound out of the headphone jack of the switch while it was docked? That lets you control the volume somewhat. It's a feature of the switch you might never know exists, real useful if you want to use headphones by the TV and the headphone-jack is located on a real inconvenient location on your TV.

Sorry if I'm captain obvious/hindsight here, just had to put it out there. Maybe that's how they solved it, didn't finish the quick look yet.

This game does not look worth anywhere near $60 or for anyone over 10 years old but at least it made for a fun Quick Look.

I dunno guys. This look's a bit off. Maybe you should unplug everything you used to record it, spin around in a circle 5 times, erase your memory of how you first set it up, and then do it again and maybe this time it'll work out better?

ha, this was the first thing we tried but the signal was too noisy. A lot of static over the line.

This looks obtuse in a weird way. But damn adorable. Feels like one of the 3ds games blown up, though. Definitely more palatable at $40.

This game should be about, I don't know, 40 dollars less.

I'm going to buy this and play it by myself. Because I personally think co-op in Kirby was always kinda bad and it doesn't look great here, either. Besides, I'll spend way too much time in the pause menu, memorizing all the skills to have someone else sitting there just waiting to fuck around and do whatver.

I would totally get this game to play through with my kids if it was $20-30.

amped to get this, still. my girlfriend and i are very big into kirby, and playing this together (instead of switching off) is going to be well worth the price (for us)

I was watching it on a 50" TV and even I had trouble discerning what was going on and who was who.

As for the game, it looks fun. Not sure what people are complaining about with the 30fps stuff. Maybe I'm just more accustomed to such things. Not sure if I'll ever buy it, but I'm sure I'd enjoy it if I did.

I love Kirby.

Why the F*** is this game $60?!

Something my friend and I observed while playing Kirby Super Star on the SNES classic was it's a great game for playing with toddlers or young children. They're able to play with you, but not hinder any progress. Especially kids that are always dying to play, but can't really.... do anything. I really appreciate the mechanics of the multiplayer allow this.

I got this game for the same friend to play with his young daughter for this very reason, and they love it.

Kirby sucks.

Hearing the positivity out of their 4 player experience makes me want to try it too.

And I see the full priced 2D stigma is still in effect. I get it. With everyone and their mother able to make a 2D game on steam if they want to, it lowers the value of every game that shares some qualities. Yes I know this game was not as hard or expensive to make as say, Mario Odyssey, but it will not sell anywhere near as much either.

Don't like the art style/direction in the game. Looks like cheap mobile blown up textures.

Nintendo's solid background worker, Kirby, doing the good work again.

I played this over the weekend with three others and it was so fun to goof around, combine powers, unleash the co-op beam cannon, and make a ruckus around Dream Land. We had a much better time with this then our previous weekends with the Secret of Mana remake.

I'm a bit miffed to see complaints about the full $60 price here, but I can't argue much against it when we have available gargantuan single-player games and cavernous multiplayer games for the same price or lower.

Personally, I love the sugar-coated (with occasional dips in to nightmares) aesthetic of Kirby and I'm happy to see it show up early in the Switch's life with a follow-up to Kirby: Return to Dream Land's four-player co-op play. Admittedly, it's a rote Kirby platforming game at the core, but the addition (or maybe return?) of power combinations is welcome. The curling combination power is so good!

Love the art style, looks super charming. I expect nothing less from a Kirby game.

The coop/AI playstyle looks super frustrating. I will need to play a demo to see for sure. Is it too much to ask for a normal, non-gimmicky Kirby?

It must be pretty great to be a fan of these Kirby games, feels like there's at least one of them a year, if not two.

My two boys are crazy about this game (4 and 6), they've been playing the demo as much as I'll let them. Easy birthday present.

@aaronmt: I was super bummed by the visuals when I played the demo. I noticed a lot of rough edges/aliasing on character models. It’s a pretty game, but by no means a graphical powerhouse. It’s a shame they couldn’t have taken the visuals the extra mile to make up for the lackluster gameplay.
