I can't even get this to install on my Xbox. I don't get it.

I literally just booted this up after the first 20% installed but I still feel the need to watch this quick look first.

14 minutes into the quicklook and Jeff is still searching for a match. Fascinating stuff.

The black crush in that Halo 2 cutscene is pretty severe.

Hmm. ~How does a game get released when the utilities are this borked? Was there no testing? This seems nuts. That bug list is CRAZY.

I've played about 10 matches so far.

If they fix the black crush and the framedrops I will be very happy to get this the day I end up with an Xbone. For now it's just a sad week of gaming >:(

jesus christ until like a few weeks ago i never knew it existed now it's all black crush this and black crush that.

I got happy for Drew when those two warthogs bounced of each other. Dude has been talking about that for a long time.

Seeing FFA Slayer from Halo 2 being played at 60 FPS with more modern visuals warped my mind a little bit. I guess that's what happens when you see a game in a different format after you've played the original for thousands of hours.

1) Drew does play.

2) Use the scrubber and skip it.

There has been multiple QLs in the past that have had just as long a time waiting for a match. QLs are very rarely edited.

Jeff: "The movement in the game is just slow and muddy. I really don't like."

Worth watching for Drew nostalgia. I still don't get why Jeff repeats that story about not being impressed with Halo.

Does it have Rocket Race?

@spiderjerusalem: Has little to do with CoD, Jeff has just never been that into Halo except for Halo 3 (and then mainly the campaign).

I felt the same way on the Bombcast. "Is the mobility actually new, or is it just like other new games?" Followed by "They should call it Team Deathmatch," I honestly don't know what the hell he wants from the series. Apparently he'd rather play a quicker character in a slog like Destiny than a tightly-designed level in Halo 4.

Personally, I'm going through the campaigns and loving it all. By the time I'm done, I'm sure I'll get into fixed multiplayer so this is a weird game of the year contender for me. Matchmaking issues are a bummer, sure, but in my specific case I can hold out a bit.

Holy shit, those cutscenes look amazing. I'm not a Halo superfan or anything (though I have put hundreds upon hundreds of hours into Halo 2 multiplayer) but man, I am nerding out watching these.

And then the Halo 4 cutscenes. Oofa doofa, that game is not good.

honestly this.

You know, this and Sunset Overdrive makes me actually think about getting an Xbox One after recovering financially from Christmas and buying a Wii U. And I'm totally not a Halo guy. In fact, I only ever played the first one in co-op and the Halo 3 beta included with Crackdown. I'm much more of an indie games and hardcore PC stuff (Mount & Blade, early Western RPGs, Endless Space) kinda guy.

But just recently I decided to bone up a bit on the big hits I never played. I haven't touched a Call of Duty since 2, so I played through Modern Warfare 1&2 and Black Ops this year. Thinking about getting Black Ops 2 and Advanced Warfare once they are on some Steam sale. Having the mainline Halo games in one neat little package sounds like a great way to catch up with that franchise. Though I've heard that both ODST and Reach were pretty good as well.

Oh, and I'm not interested in the multiplayer, so I don't care at all if that doesn't work.

Did they tweak halo 4's loading so doors dont perma-close behind you so you can't scavenge for weapons?

Good Xmas game. By that time a lot of the bugs should be fixed.

Yeah, they disappeared in the 360 version. The game looks beautiful but im not sure the tradeoff in memory allocation was worth it.

Is it possible to pop the game in and tell it NOT to download the 20GB multiplayer patch without disconnecting the internet? I don't give two shits about Halo multiplayer, but I would buy this just to play through the main line single player games.

I'm pleased Drew has this collection to look forward to. Watching this even got me interested. One thing I may do is play Halo-Reach. I actually enjoyed that particular game, and I just said hello to my 360 for what may be a year gone by..

Jeff's reminiscences are excellent to listen to. Sounds like a any corporate push, say like what Jeff ran into the rough side of, so long ago it seems.
