Quick Look: Gatling Gears

Downloaded the demo this morning because I heard it was from the Greed Corp dudes.  Didn't play it because of going to work.  Saw the headline here for it being a dual joystick shooter.  Got bummed.  Watched the quick look and immediately went "Oh, so they made Jackal... AWESOME!"  Going to have to confirm by playing it for myself, but I think this looks like good fun.

Great QL.  Game looks pretty fun, and I like the steampunk aesthetic.

I do believe I heard a Mr. Show reference in there.

The videos have been stuttering for me lately. I tried turning off hardware acceleration like one of the guys mentioned in... was it the bombcast? I forget. Anyway, it hasn't helped.

It isn't so terrible as to make the vids unwatchable, but it is a touch annoying.

Jeff in the beginning sounded like he was sipping some of Jesus' no-no juice.

I am using IE8, and have installed latest flash update, but for some reason I can not launch movies in the player here, even ones I have watched before. This started yesterday. Anyone else having this problem ???

I have this problem on my other pc, changed to IE9, still the same problem. Oddly enough, not the other whiskey sites. Nor can I make comments on my other newest pc. I will again try to bring it to someones attention, wish you luck.

The original version, "The Day of the Jackal" (1973) was a waaaaaaaay better movie.  :)

Fact: Superman theme always turns into Star Wars theme.

Hmm... this game looks pretty fun.  If the colours were a little bit higher contrast and the camera wasn't quite so zoomed out, it'd probably be easier to see what's happening. There's a reason bullet hell shmups use garish contrasty glowing colours for the bullets.   The default gun being exceptionally lame is another issue.  The better weapons look awesome though.

@ tehwatafu I like IE it is the most hassle free browser with the widest support and site compatability. 2 days ago IE was working fine here, and still works fine on all other WHISKEY MEDIA sites. I have not had an update, nor altered or allowed to be altered any of my settings. Any problems must be with this site( GIANT BOMB) and not IE. The site creators must have "pulled an APPLE" and "borked" the site for IE users. Which is really dumb ( if this is wide spread for IE users here and not just me or a few). They better fix it soon, seeming as the majority of people use IE as their browser ( about 80% use IE)

Agreed. It seems the only games he likes are throwbacks, you know, nostalgia-driven games like the new Mortal Kombat. He's kind of a bummer. I know that most games don't warrant much excitement, but he just seems sick of video games in general. Many of his comments and observations, even positive ones, are preceded by a big qualifying sigh. A quick look with Jeff and Ryan is probably dreaded by most game developers- akin to seeing your child shoved through a meat grinder by geeky grim reapers.

Considering that IE comes with about 99% of PCs , and about 80% of internet users use it as their primary browser , it seems most find your facts to be unfact , infact ;). Guys I get it you like to knock MS so IE is 'crud', the slighest thing it is IE fault and a person should use the current fad favourite browser. I get that view, but it is not actually the case. I have tried Opera, Chrome, Safari I dislike them all, and found more issues with these then with IE, especially with web site media play back and even opening web sites. The only time I have had serious issues with viruses( having to nuke and reformat the hdd) is when using a non IE browser . With IE never really had a problem with viruses or such like. Regardless of your views on IE I am going to stick to it I like it, I know how it works, and it works how I like.

Well I am giving FIREFOX another go, video is playing now.
I still do not like this browser   ;p.
Oh BTW this game is really good.
