Just watched The Shining again last night. It's definitely a guy in a dog costume, not a bunny.

I've never really been on the CoD or BF train. Didn't have a console when CoD hit big, was playing other games on PC and missed BF when it was really big. I played a little BF3, all multiplayer. So Titanfall 2 was the first shooter like this that I picked up on day one, which I decided to do when I heard about their DLC plan and saw Jeff's review. The campaign was great, and the MP is awesome. I'm pretty bad at the movement still, but when you pull crazy shit off and get a few kills in a row it's a fucking incredible feeling. I hope a lot more people pick it up and show how great games with good DLC plans can succeed.

On a Tuesday! Now I have something to enjoy on the way to work besides my banana.

Hitman is my GOTY, fsho. I can't wait for you guys to do a quick look of EP 6. The female Yakuza lawyer vapes, and so do some chefs in the garage area where the Yoga instructor is taking a call. The idea is that it's a health center, so cigarettes are considered contraband. It's awesome.

If Titanfall 2 does not sell enough I will be really disappointed. A it has a really fresh campaign, amazingly fun multiplayer, incredible mechanics, and all DLC will be free.

Couldn't agree more with the general enthusiasm for Titanfall 2. Its right up there with the best handful of games this year and for me its definitely the best shooter.

Maybe that is what happened with Doom reviews. They weeded out the reviewers who only wanted to play it to have early coverage and left people who were slightly more predisposed to liking the game.

No one got early copies. Only the reviewers/websites who just wanted to play the game finish it wrote reviews. I said nothing about some reviewers getting the game earlier than others.

@ez123: Ah, I see. I doubt that's a big factor though. Doom has about 60 reviews on Metacritic while a huge game like Battlefield 1 still only has around 40. If you were planning on reviewing a big game like Doom you would probably do that regardless of whether or not you got an early copy. If you're in the business of reviewing video games you're gonna review the new Doom. Doom is also short enough so that you can get a review up on release day or a day later. I can see what you're describing happening with longer and/or more niche games though.

Based on how Jeff was talking about this game on the podcast, I'm not surprised. Jeff loves him his fast twitch shooters. He use to always look forward to COD, cause he loves, well loved, it's fast pace multiplayer. I'm still not sure If I'm picking this one up, not cause I don't think it'll be fun or play great but I just find myself steering away from the fast twitch shooters. Been moving away from it for some years now, reviews look solid tho.

• Unless you are eating entire tubes of toothpaste you'll be fine.
• Children: "swallowing too much fluoride can cause fluorosis (spotting or discoloration) in developing teeth." Just make sure your kids know to spit. Fluoride in the water shouldn't cause this.

I'm morbidly curious if Bethesda's claim that no release day reviews for Doom 2016 working out fine is ALSO a lie. It ended up getting up lots of positive coverage, but rumors have been going around that it is a commercial bomb. Jeff made an offhand joke about the frequent deep discounts it already has on the Beastcast. It could be under-performing as badly as Battleborn, but we can't know because publishers get to keep that information secret.

I suspect Doom needed more pre-release hype to reach newer generations of FPS fans, and got hobbled by the lack of it. But they're going to stick with this policy in the short term because Elder Scrolls, Fallout, and Dishonored already have rabid young fanbases to evangelize for them. They don't want the risk of traditional reviewers being wet blankets about the games' bugs and flaws.

Little does everyone know, when Dan got the nickname "Dirty Dan" Ryckert, they were actually talking about his fucking awful hygiene.
