Great second episode, it was cool to hear everyone's different backgrounds with the artist and that Jordan is a bonafide Fan™ of Danzig. Also this album made me queasy

That would be great! Since they can't actually play songs in the show, I wouldn't mind listening to next week's album in advance of the show.

They announced the album a couple days back on the Two Minutes To Late Night twitter account, but yeah, alot of people probably missed the announcement

Fun episode

I was born in Poland in the city of Gdansk (basically Novigrad from Witcher 3). I recently learned that the translation is Danzig.

It was a confusing revelation.

I love this

I found this fun, don't know much about Danzig myself. After the early show nerves wore off, there seemed to be a chemistry picking up.

"Buddy Holly if his parents were killed by the Joker" absolutely murdered me.

Oh my god that album sucks. I can't put it into words which is why this episode was so entertaining.

Great second episode. Bit of a shame that it's such a cold intro/outro considering it's a show about music. Although the mic unplugging at the end was funny.

I don't think they spent enough time talking about the reverb-b-b-b-b. It's hilariously much!

I'm glad they addressed the mouth noises. I heard some clicking about halfway through my advance listen, and I couldn't unhear it the rest of the time. Maybe they had only one mic, and Danzig insisted being on top of it. Would explain why the guitarist sounds like he was forced to stand in the hallway outside the studio.

For my money, the worst song is "Love Me", followed closely by "Lonely Blue Boy" and "Like A Baby". I also didn't hate "Fever" because it had some life in it at least. Why did Danzig pick the slowest, most tepid songs to cover?

I honestly don't know how anybody could choose this album over the Weezer album. I loved Danzig in the late 80's through Lucifuge, I saw them several times. This album is just such a disappointment. It's like if after he got done with the Sistine Chapel, Michelangelo started drawing caricatures at the town faire and that wasn't supposed to detract from his previous work.

Very excited to watch this. Listened to the album last night and it is just astoundingly bad.

I dig this one more than the first, which makes me wonder if that means I didn't want people to be mean to Rivers Cuomo and I'm okay with it when it comes to Glenn Danzig. I dunno what to make of that.

Anyway, I was listening to the video, but clicked back to the video midway through and saw the Goku MPreg art that showed up for a little. I think Albummer might be the best thing since Jesus now.

Also, the Danzig that sung American Nightmare would've made a great Elvis cover album. The idea is perfect, just a couple decades too late.

i said i wasn't going to waste my time watching this , but excess time and morbid curiosity since ppl said it was a better episode made me do it anyway. am i happy i did? ...no my opinion holds i still think these ppl think they're funnier than they are. the shit piling they do in an attempt to be funny doesn't land imo. plus for a show where the premise we were sold was talk about the album and how it got here there is actually very little talking about the album and its only at the tail end pretty much. don't get me wrong i like danzig's stuff but even as a fan there is no way imo you can call this album good imo , hes getting old and it is a bad album, but the tone of this show is just not good. and frankly for the we've been living in i can't see why anyone can think of this as a good format in 2021. i''m not sure why bakalar thought this was a good idea to bring to the site , i guess our tastes just really don't line up more than expected , enjoy i guess to anyone who actually does for some reason , i've gave this show its fair due now and i still wish my premium didn't help go to bringing this here.

edit: also i forgot to mention how bad they're own audio levels are , that at least is a production issue than can be fixed with time ... seriously you should fix that , everyone is all over the place volume wise and thats not pleasant for listening as you should know, maybe work on that somehow cause ppl shouldn't need to keep fiddling with a volume wheel when watching

Danzig has sounded winded since Deth Red Sabaoth so something ten years later and a covers album is going to be a glorious garbage fire.

I like Lucie Steiner from her work on the Majority Report, which I listen to every day.

I like Emily Panic from some stuff she's done with Run the Jewels.

I love "How Did This Get Made."

I don't think this show is very funny so far. I understand shows need room to grow and improve and hopefully they get there. Early on in the GB days, I thought Alex was trying too hard also, and over time he mellowed out and became very funny and just overall awesome.

There's a manic energy to these first two episodes that has a bit of a try-hard feel to it. They're kind of trying to score one-liners over each other, rather than allowing a natural chemistry to build and for the comedy to evolve from that. There has to be a bit of a passing game in comedy; it can't all just be ball hogs. I hope over time they give themselves and each other more space to grow and get comfortable. I think the show will be better for it.

Hmm... Okay, Danzig was always seen as a joke to me, so I'll give this episode ago. Edit to give my full opinion later.

I love Danzig even when he's bad. He's one of the most entertaining characters out there.

Obvious production issues like levels, not having local recordings and video out of sync aside.....

I came back after the disaster of a first episode, imo, it didn't get much better.

I've been liking most of the other new stuff on the site though, I'm not one of the "must be video games content" people.... Just this ain't it. These people sound like they're hosting a panel at DashCon.

@drshipweight: exactly! criticism is good , i don't mind calling something bad when its bad and even a few stories to tie things in but this isn't that. plus like @ludovicoheard and @stevenseagal774 said the laughing over everything at everything in such a way that just feels forced doesn't make something funny , it just makes it sad honestly :/

I'm really liking this group so I'm kinda surprised to see some of the reactions here. They feel like a lovable, cool group of friends and I don't get the vibe that they're faking or one-upping each other.

Of all of the new shows so far, this one feels like it's bringing the freshest new group dynamic and, to me, it feels real cozy to listen in on their banter. I think part of it also comes from how much they remind me of some of my friends and how we'd talk at parties.

Also, I'm not the biggest music nerd so it's fun to get a glimpse into this community and fill in some blind spots in my music knowledge in the form of friends fucking around. Giant Bomb was built on friends fucking around so I'm super into this.

I am but a humble spooky boy with a haircut, and I think this show rules. Easily the most fun of the new shows that have premiered so far. I totally get people's sentiment about not enjoying expressly negative stuff, but for what it's worth I don't get the sense that they're actually denigrating anyone's creative effort, or the people who enjoy these albums. They're just fucking around and ribbing the absurd egos that bring these things into existence. Consider Giant Bomb's long-running comedic characterization of Peter Molyneux. It's kinda like that.

Still have no idea what this show is doing at Giant Bomb.
