Every year I think Microsoft should buy SEGA, and it never happens.

It just seems uniquely good for them. Sonic as a console mascot character, Yakuza / ATLUS and some other japanese market heavy stuff to make inroads there and all the Creative Assembly / Total War stuff as a big PC splash.

I assume it would cost a shitload of money, but SEGA would be an amazing pickup.

Really overselling how well ps3 and 360 emulation work. Like they work but with a million caveats and the vast majority of stuff won't run great

I'm very glad to have Danny as our semi-permanent rotating chair for the time being. He's always got plenty to talk about and the noclip stuff means he often has tons of interesting behind-the-scenes insight to offer on top of all the games he plays. Plus he's just a cool guy.

There's mods for PES (and maybe Fifa?) that remove the crowds. Works really well and even improves the framerate. I understand South American players have been doing it for years to improve performance on low-end PC's.

I'd pay copious amounts of money to see Danny join the Bombcast every week. He's absolutely one of the most articulate and charismatic people in the industry.

As someone who played Overwatch semi-regularly for a couple years, I’m not sure there’s anything that OW2 could do that I would really care enough about to play it. And as the dev cycle gets extended for it, I wonder what trends picked up post-2016 are being incorporated and will feel positively ancient by 2022+ when the game is actually released. If you want to put some early money on a future Most Distressing Game, this one feels like a decent bet.

I have been playing Overwatch daily since the beta and it has been the only shooter to ever keep my attention for longer than a few months. I would love the addition of more PvE/Co-Op content similar to horde mode. The Co-Op missions for the anniversary events are always super fun and a great way to provide more lore and context for Overwatch's world. So yeah, I excited to see what OW2 turns out to be.

@humanity: Irish whiskey is the second best whiskey, but is still not, generally speaking, good. Canadian whiskey is the worst whiskey.

Another part of the Goldeneye issue is the rights holders changing demands for what you can/cannot show, they apparently took issue with the blood, excessive killing, the ability to kill civilians/scientists and... of all things... cheats like big head mode, it's almost like they finally took a look at the games that were being made and decided they didn't want any more, which is why there haven't been any since 2012.
If only they were made aware that Goldeneye the video game is one of the greatest of all time.

Jan, if you find the large # of Ys titles daunting (though there's nothing wrong with starting with IX), I strongly recommend checking out Oath in Felghana and/or Origin. They're on Steam and usually go on sale a lot.

Never had issues with Anthem on PS4 and PS5, was always perplexed when people said it was unplayable.

@ralphmoustaccio: I don't know if I ever tried true Canadian whiskey. I've bought whiskey that was called Old Canadian Whiskey but I don't know the legitimacy of that claim. It was a budget brand so it tasted like budget whiskey does.

Being a dane, I felt like I had to comment on the Hitman voice actress bit.

Danny's mostly right, though it's not the current voice actress for Diana Burnwood. Jane Perry (from Canada) has done the voice acting in the new trilogy, but back in Silent Assassin, Contracts and Blood Money, she was voiced by Vivienne Mckee, who was born in the UK, but has lived and worked in Denmark for many decades now.

It is true, that she has supplied english voice acting for some of the public trains/train stations, though info on what capacity is a bit all over the place. The intercity trains as well as many of the city trains, subways, and stations will have the announcements in both danish and english to help turist, etc. (at least in Copenhagen, not sure how wide spread it is).

Vivienne has not been a news anchor (at least not to my knowledge), but she has worked in theater as an actress and comedian, as well as doing stand-up. Here she's well known for her show "Crazy Christmas Cabaret", a yearly show that started back in the early 80's, which is also when she started the English Theatre of Copenhagen. I don't know too much about it, but I think its goal is to help english speaking actors get work in Denmark, and maybe also produce their own shows.

Crazy Christmas Cabaret is a comedy show, usually making fun of some recent event with a lot of crude humour (I remember one show based on The Lord of the Rings, where the Eye of Sauron was drawn to look like a vuvla). One of the main sticks is the fact that the whole cast is british and the show is therefore performed in english, but Vivienne's characters will mix english and danish or make bad/wrong direct translations of words. This often results in the actors she's playing with not understanding or misunderstanding what she's saying, which can throw them off and generally leads to funny situations. This probably doesn't work very well, if you only understand the english bits, but a lot of danish people love it!

@ralphmoustaccio: I really like Woodford Reserve because it’s so smooth. I also enjoy Jim Bean Double Oak but think the Rye a little harsh. Bulleit is pretty alright as well. I tried Ryan’s favorite Eagle Rare and it wasn’t great but I happily drank it in his memory.

Bulleit is definitely my go to inexpensive bourbon. If I'm in a spendier mood, I'm a big fan of Blanton's. At some point, I want to try this, but I'm not sure it's going to be worth the 90ish bucks.

Brad was talking about me. I didn't care about frame rate, but now I'm all in on 60 minimum. Playing these new games at smooth frame rates reminds me of the wonder of Timesplitters on the PS2 running like a dream compared to Perfect Dark.

I’ve also been somewhat spoiled by 60fps on PS5. I will still play a game at steady 30 if it’s the only option, but trying the resolution modes in both Control and Miles Morales felt so jarring that smoother framerate felt like the only way to play. Also decided to play Little Nightmares 2 on PC instead after trying the demo on both platforms, since PS5 only runs the 30fps PS4 version (for now).

I propose we replaced the term "Scuttlebutt", the usage of this reached an all time high on this episode, with alternatives. I like "Jibber Jabber", personally.

Man when Jeff mentioned Todd Boone I started dying. I was like "Cutlery Corner!" Me and a buddy used to watch that every Thursday night baked. It was the craziest thing. Twenty folding knives plus a giant battle axe, $100, lol. Also the way the hosts described the knives, priceless. If you haven't seen it its worth checking out. There used to be a 24/7 youtube stream of old episodes but I think thats gone. Here's a clip from one of the shows.

Brad, Miles Morales is super quick to platinum. If you're worried about doing NG+, when you're skipping cutscenes it'll take about 3 hours at most and it's real easy to knock out on the weekend. Most people are finishing the game within 15-16 hours, and seeing as you beat it it shouldn't be much more to go for you.
