Bananas when they get spotty but the flesh is still white and not bruised are the best. So sweet and mushy and delicious. I’ll eat the bruised ones, just eat around the bruise. My mom called them “honey bananas” in Spanish.

Citrus is still my fave fruit family though. Oranges, tangerines, lemons, kumquats, limes. Yum.

Honestly, I think the only reasons we need disks right now is because publishers don't release digital games worldwide, and because they often don't include all languages on a single ROM. I usually have to buy import discs when I want to but the game in its original language, and not the localized version I'll get from PSstore.

Also, if the M & B line is it, I don't really get why people freak sou so much... Sure, it's idiotic, but considering the mood of the game, I kind of expected something actually morally shocking and bad...

I think it's important to take in account that being part of the EA family for years, and quite an important studio for them, means that they are very aware that the publisher is looking for certain kinds of games to be made and that Anthem would satisfy a bunch of these goals. That they could make a teambased flying mech shooter with ME3 combat (in theory) to fit within these trappings is a pretty cool idea, but i can't imagine that they would be able to avoid the online trappings if they had 0 desire to put that in their next game. Or that people that are averse to live games would be recruited into these companies. EA just doesn't ship AAA games without ways to make most of it's money off of it's online components. Games that have hooks to keep you invested for long periods of time with the ability to keep spending money on it. And sure, there won't be an email floating around that states that they HAVE TO MAKE A GAAS GAME OR ELSE...., but internal pressures are certainly a reality.

Especially after a high profile failure, you want to redeem yourself not only to the audience, but also to the publisher. You're not going to make something that the publisher doesn't want to see and requires a ton of internal politics to get going. I mean, look at what Gearbox did after a public failure. They took the safest route possible and made a new version of the game that people liked and made boatloads doing so. Yes, that's a different situation, yes gearbox is private owned, but it still shows the rationale at work of what you do when you try to regain your footing as a developer.

There's also no way that EA would let the Destiny / Division / Wildlands coop shooter craze go by without making an AAA one themselves. They attempted that with Moba's (Dawngate), Overwatchy games (Apex Legends) and Battle Royale (COD). When people are excited about a multiplayer mode, EA will attempt to strike when the iron is hot. Dice & Criterion were on Star Wars & Battlefield duty already, and Respawn were doing Star Wars & Apex business so the job to create an Anthem-like game had Bioware's name on it.

Hot take. Anthem was fun.

Terry is the only candidate who asks "Are you OK" before punching you so hard that his hand explodes. As a voter, I appreciate that level of compassion.

@wesley008: I mean, yeah, that's bad. But it's not any worse than the line a few seconds before where she says, "It was Diehard-Man's idea." That line is terrible because it sounds ridiculous when said out loud.

I think Stadia is open to have crossplay outside of the special stadia multiplayer stuff. But that's up to the developer. Makes me wonder if we'll see the low latency games on this list have both options in there as a way to clearly demonstrate how much better their own Stadia multiplayer is compared to 'normal' matchmaking.

Also, right now these services are spending money on getting the services out there and get you hooked into the system. The games helping them with that, will probably get compensated fairly. But if we'll end up in a situation where your game is pretty much dead on arrival UNLESS it's on the leading online platform, we'll start to see Spotify-esque situations. Games having to be on the gamepass even if they only get a paltry sum of money for it. When the price of admission is equal, more people will elect to play Destiny 3 instead of Bike II while their subscription is ongoing. Therefore Bike II will get less money for being part of the platform. Still more than not having anyone see & play your game though.

Didn't Google just ban a bunch of people for emote spamming in one of Markiplier's live streams? Like they've been banned from the entire platform. Gmail, App Store, etc... Not just YouTube.

They've also made some questionable changes to the YouTube TOS that make it seem like they can ban your account if you're no longer considered "commercially viable". Whatever that means.

I'd be real pissed if I bought a bunch of games on Stadia and then had my account banned because I like to use an ad-blocker on YouTube.

Finally someone at GB says this was a solid year and ta-da, it's "jaded" Jeff.

Discs really help with the data cap situation. Discs also go on sale much faster which helps me extend my gaming dollar while sort of letting me stay in the conversation.

I'm mostly likely never going to be a user of Stadia, but one thing I wished they would have touched on in this latest discussion, is something like Red Dead 2. With the issues people are having running Red Dead 2 that's where one of Stadia's "features" could come into play, theoretically you would be playing on graphically max settings without shelling out the cost for a complete system rebuild or top of the line graphics card.

Even if this isn't the line they're talking about, holy fuck is this some real A-grade "my face is tired" horseshit

Qualifier, I adore Hideo Kojima's games but reading on a relatively recent op ed by MGS1's translator, Jeremy Blaustein, I get a sense that the translators were really hard pressed to come up with some sort of wordplay on the dialogue enforced by Kojima's mandate on hewing closer to transliteration with his script.

It's so astonishingly bad, even more so when Kojima's script seemed to improve in MGS5. This is utterly unhinged

It's almost impressive how that line is delivered with such straight conviction, at least. Props to Lindsay Wagner's voice actor for doing her best

The stadia convo was so confusing, the play everywhere is exactly what stadia is. So yeah you own the games they have now, but eventually when games launch day 1 on stadia, then there you go, start your library there.

Granted that line is dumb as all hell, but they will NEVER top the dialogue Deadman delivers when explaining how BBs work with their... mothers. I thought people were over-exaggerating how disgusting it was but no they're right on the money. Kojima never had to land on that as an explanation but he penned that up and thought, "... GOLD".

It’s not graphic in nature and the concept doesn’t seem like anything out of the ordinary for sci-fi ideas - unless I’m missing something and they intentionally capture women, force them into pregnancy in some sort of internment camps and then through a forced procedure make them brain dead.

@summerofblake: yeah, it’s super annoying. I listen to many podcasts, NONE enjoy talking around something without ever saying what it is as these guys do. The fact that we’re all here in the comments asking the same question speaks to that.

This is specifically the only reason I'm considering Stadia. I haven't purchased RDR2 yet but when I do I know I won't be able to run it at max settings or anything close to it. If I can potentially pay a subscription to play at max settings and avoid having to spend hundreds in PC parts then it might make it worth it.

In all fairness to the GB West staff, people seem to be very sensitive to any kind of spoiler. A quick look at the comments section for last week's Bomb cast and there are complaints about them spoiling The Outer Worlds. Therefore, I understand them talking around things sometimes.
