Super charming simple platformer
I've come to love pretty much everything put out by Jayenkai, the one-man development "team" who somehow manages to release a quality title every week. My favorites are the NeonPlat series, but I've got to admit, Sheep Goes Right holds a special place in my heart.
Sheep Goes Right reminds me a lot of Kirby's Epic Yarn, in the best way possible. It's got a very pleasing, non-traditional graphic aesthetic, with a real-world art vibe. The audio and charming logo only serve to further the experience.
Gameplay-wise, Sheep Goes Right is a bit of a peculiar platformer. The player's only options are to jump and move right. It doesn't seem like anything is actually missing, though, as it works within the context of the game, although I've got to admit that I was pulling back to the left more than a few times throughout its playthrough.
The game is also simple enough to where I would recommend it for the youngsters in a gamer's family, as it is very non-threatening (Sheepy contends with the likes of spiked balls and fireballs, but when he hits them he just baas and falls offscreen), adorable as hell, and even though it gets a tad frustrating in the later sections, there is no "Game Over" and if you lose all of your lives it just simply gives you an option to skip the stage that's vexing you.
Sheep Goes Right is a perfect example of taking a traditional game type and just overall thinking outside of the box. Other than some tough sections in the game, literally my only other complaint is that it feels far too short.
