Extraterrestrials appear in many video games in a variety of styles. Sometimes they're evil, sometimes they're benevolent, and sometimes they're very similar to humans.
Ability to play as a non-human or extraterrestrial character.
This concept occurs in many RPGs and Sci-Fi games. The Ancient Advanced Civilization Technology is often a giant weapon (Halo Rings, Giant of Babil, etc.) that becomes a major plot focus in the stories of these games.

This is popularly seen in anthropomorphic animal characters, aliens or monsters, Werewolves being a prime example. Unguligrades are similar but instead of toes, they have hooves.

Whether it be Mario vs. Bowser, Jedi vs. Sith, Link vs. Ganon, or Elves vs. Orcs, the forces of good are in an eternal battle with the hordes of evil.
Derived from the Spanish word for "little war", guerrilla warfare is waged by a small and mobile armed force against a larger, more regimented force. It typically involves the use of ambushes, sabotage, and other offensive tactics meant to overcome an enemy's greater numbers.
"Hand to hand. It is the basis of all combat." -Gray Fox
Henchmen are the loyal grunts caught in between the player and the main antagonist. Without them every game would be nothing more than a boss battle.
Special or stronger units than standard ones, usually found in strategy games. This is not necessarily the same thing as a superhero or a game's protagonist.
The High Templar is powerful Protoss spellcaster unit.
The ability for the player to become unseen, from basic camouflage to fully vanishing from sight.
The ability to control the direction and/or behavior of lightning; this may also be connected with the ability to generate lightning. Many games involve characters with lightning element attacks. These are unique because of their potency with water.
Martial arts are a popular set of skills that many video game characters possess. Martial arts are the cornerstone of any fighting game, and have influenced many platforming and adventure games.
