Also, other than a few min at the start, the demo was the start of the game.

This is the first hour-ish. I had some odd "lag" but i'm pretty sure it was because i used VPN to unlock the game. Hopefully that is a good sign that everything is server side so less cheating in the DZ.

This was not my plan, but no one i knew was silly enough to get the version that gives you the 3 day early access. Shockingly i'm having fun. (which i did not when playing solo on the first game.) I does suck when doing open world stuff when you die. :( I'd still rather be playing with others but till i guess i'm stuck with solo will the 15th :(

I'm looking forward to the SLI/HDR fix so SLI is enabled. There are higher settings than Ultra which i can't handle on one card :)

Does anyone how upgrading the Exotic level 1 weapons works. Have a pattern for it. I have all the mats for it other than some ranking on the weapon itself? I don't think it would be gear score, which i don't think comes till max level. But it is some score. The upgrade is for the level i'm at now. *shrug*

Does the TCL have tone mapping? (i think it does) Do most TVs? Do any, other the LG's newest, have it in game mode?

If that is the case, i wonder what people do to get the correct looking HDR. (and from the dev's view, what settings do you put in if the TV does support tone mapping (or the user has not idea what it is.))

Hi all,

I found the default HDR settings/tools left the image washed out.

Here are some suggestions:

First, does your TV have tone mapping for HDR? (it might be called something else on your TV.)

(If you have a LG OLED, only the 2018 models do in game mode. I'd suggest using a different HDR mode on the TV for this game (if your TV doesn't have tone mapping for gaming mode.) It isn't like input lag matters for this game. Also, unless you calibrated your TV (you need a meter and software) game modes normally look like crap :( )

HDR suggestions: RE2 has real HRD support. Unlike red dead 2 or monster hunter.

1) Change the TV mode (on the TV, and when HDR content is on) to technicolor HDR (not gaming, if not an option pick cinema HDR or ISF HDR) – it will look better and it isn’t like this game needs the fancy input lag. Make sure Tone Mapping is on. (which it should be by default. It is not dynamic contrast. That is bad and should be off.)

[These settings only matter with Tone Mapping on]

2) On the HDR brightness options in the game (Display). Max it to the right.

3) On the second HDR brightness window (with the red and blue), move it all the way to the left. Then tick if 3-4 times to the right.

Why? The short answer is tone mapping. The TV see (and expects) 4000nits and the TV will map the brightness down to what the screen can do. Also doing this while making sure you get the full range of brightness. There is no point making it bright when you lose the darkness.)

I'm loving the game.

Sofa + dog + xbox elite controller + 2080 ti + LG OLED C8 77" (fully calibrated) + atmos (5.1.2) + 4k HDR + dark room. yummy :)

It is painfully boring. I really wanted to like it. I was in the closed beta too and still gave it a chance in the VIP. ugh. It takes the best part of ME:A, the combat and makes a game just about that. The problem? While it was the best part of ME:A and better than past ME combat... i found it boring.

The hub area is soulless, shooting was boring.. i REALLY didn't like hunting for the beeping objects. The blur motion toggle needs to work. It sucks.

That said, it runs no problem at 4k 60 with ultra on a 2080 ti/Titan RTX. But everything looks super soft and jaggys are all over. SLI doesn't work. Forcing it causes a blinky nightmare.

The story is at the same level of dumb as density 2 (i didn't play the first one)… pretty much this is D2 but more boring with less engaging combat. (I didn't like D2, but i did play like 60+ hours of it because it filled some time. I did enjoying the shooting in that.)

I foolishly got the Origin pass thingy that gives me access all EA games. I thought it was a ok deal when i got it. Something has to be good, right? BFV? nope. Anthem? nope. Sport games? I hate them.

sooo.. EA == you are dead to me, but you won because you have my money already.

Mouse Sensitivity - Fix is underway!

Hey all!

First off, thanks for being in our community hub! We hope you are just as excited to see the game come to PC as we are to put it there:)

Second, we are aware of the mouse issue, and are currently working on a fix. No exact time frame on when that will be out, but we'll let you know once we have it!

It runs well.. shame it doesn't have co-op as this would have been fun with another person. I did get it on the xbox one at launch but i don't remember why i stopped playing it. I didn't get very far.

Did it run like crap on the xbox?

Dice has great support in the engine for SLI. It is in there some place. BF1 had it (so did ME:A). Also if RT did work with the huge perf hit it will seem to have, SLI support will be very helpful. That said, maybe RT + SLI doesn't work.

also, while people love to say SLI is dying.. that is from people that don't run SLI. I'm been running SLI since two voodoo 2 cards. :) (including many quad setups.) Other than the 2 latest AC games, almost all recent fancy grafix games have SLI support. All the big engines natively support it. (unreal, unity, snowdrop, forstbyte, etc)

RT is part of the suggested specs for the game. It also says it is "on" via the command line. Maybe i need to get to a city map with cars and windows and turn on/off RT from the command line to see if i notice anything different.

The command line is: PostProcess.ScreenSpaceRaytraceEnable 1

update: the word on the street is there will be a "0 day patch" that will add RT. When is 0 day? :)

I signed up for the EA whatever access thing that gives access to the game today. ($99 a year... but BFV + anthem would be more than $99... )

So i fire up the game and no SLI. This engine is great for SLI, even 4 way.. so having not even 2 way SLI supported makes me sad.

Also, no ray tracing (not that i could see). Yes, i did turn it on via the command line. Yes, i'm also running the latest drivers (from today), dx12 and windows 10 1809. (dx12 and 1809 are required for RT, it is part of dx12)

It either not on or something so minor that one can't tell if it is on or off. The general problem with RT is faking it looks pretty darn good. (DLSS i think the sexy new feature... if that every gets added.) The videos from nvidia are shutting everything off vs RT on. Not fake vs real.

On the plus side the game runs fine @4k and 60fps on a single RTX 2080 ti with the max default settings.

There are stats on the top left.

A few times a year i fly to Asia for work (from NYC) That is a day on the plane... each way... ugh..

I've been getting the razer blade laptops for awhile. (the latest with a 1060 and 4k screen.) They are really well build and not a huge monster. (just looks like a normal laptop.)

As with any gaming laptop, they cost a ton, and they perform like crap. :) (i think the one i'm using now was like $2,600 - this years model with the 1070/4k is $2,900! I wish they'd make a 1440p screen. 1080p is to low IMO for any laptop and 4k is overkill.) I only take the laptop for those long flights (and in the hotel room.) I could get a new PC sexy PC with a 2080 ti and still save money vs a laptop.

Laptops have gimped CPUs (less cores) and gimped GPUs. You see how big video cards are? note how small a laptop is. :) Then they take a huge perf dive when they aren't plugged in. (lucky business class has power plugs or the games would be unplayable. (and the battery would die in an hour or two.)

I would never suggest someone getting a gaming laptop if that is their main gaming system. I'd only suggest it if you travel a lot.

When the RTX cards make it into laptops i'll pick up another one. The Ray tracing is every more pointless than in the desktop (which is pointless there too) but the DLSS would help. (DLSS is the AI power AA. It should be great AA with a very slight perf hit. That said, the RTX are hot as hell.. and laptops are still small...

Mr Stonyman65 has a good idea. That said, you aren't going to be very mobile. The CPU is still gimped and you have to pay for the GPU case (which is pretty costly too.)
