@forcen: Agreed! It's very distracting. It also makes it hard to hear what they're saying . I've had to skip the emails sections in the last 2 Bombcasts now.
I really hate to be this guy and apologies in advance (I'm trying to say this as nicely as possible), but I honestly don't understand why Jeff Bakalar is on the Beastcast. Like, he seems like a cool, funny dude and I like him as a personality (I follow him on Twitter), but every time Vinny goes to him during the "what have you been playing?" section he just talks about some other random stuff he did over the weekend. I've started skipping his sections because I honestly have no interest listening to stories about his skiing trips or about a Monopoly card game. When he talks about games—he's great! But he doesn't talk about games enough, IMO.
This style of review sort of reminds me of the way Kinda Funny does their reviews—which is basically a discussion of the game on their podcast.
I actually really like this idea though, and I'll tell you why. Sometimes I'll play a game way after its initial release date. Sometimes it's 6 months, while other times it may be 2-3 years. While playing I often forget what the guys on GB thought of the game, but I couldn't be bothered to dig through a bunch of old Bombcasts or Beastcasts in order to find out. Now I can just load up the review and listen them their thoughts right away. It's a cool idea. I'm into it.
EDIT: I'm also excited that they are keeping scores. I like Giant Bomb's 1-5 star scale. Best in the business.
Did anyone else notice the synching in this episode was really bad? There were multiple times that Jeff was answering a question from Dan like 2-3 seconds after, and Dan's voice was playing over Jeff's voice a lot. I know that because they're not sitting right beside each other it's easy to talk over each other, but this episode I think Dan's audio was 2-3 second ahead of Jeff's (or maybe vice versa).
