When I was in Japan a few years ago I bought all the PS3 Macross "Hybrid Pack" DVD/game bundles; 4 of them in total. Unless I am mistaken, each come with a different PS3 Macross game made to coincide with the respective anime on the disk.

One of these hybrid packs is definitely "Do You Remember Love" so you might want to try to check it out.

For me it was when games like Uncharted and Tomb Raider started really adding a lot of subtle incidental animations while the character is moving, to slightly react to their immediate environment - putting out a hand to keep themselves away from the rock wall, shifting their shoulders or hips to avoid or navigate through/around bits of foliage or rock formations, nudge a door open or closed as they move near it, etc.

I wish, instead of endlessly speculating (to the point of basically creating fan fiction) we would instead have a good open conversation about burn-out, change, and the healthiness of moving on and doing it on your own terms. Wouldn't that be better??

If you have enjoyed any of the Life is Strange series, Dontnod did an Xbox/PC exclusive called "Tell Me Why". My partner and i are about 1/2 through it on PC and are enjoying it.

@topcyclist: I believe there are a few beat em ups that have a wrestling ring level, but by far my favorite that has this is Violent Storm. You might want to check it a YouTube video to see if this is the one you're thinking of

I was somewhere around the last couple of levels of Shadow Warrior (2013) and then overwrote my autosave because I wanted to show my friend the opening level and how the graphics and swordplay looked. That was the first time I had encountered the game mechanic of a game creating a single rolling autosave and "new game" meant "overwrite the single save we've been making for you". I've still never gone back and finished the game even though I was quite enjoying it overall.

Might not be game related, but I recently saved over an old art project with the new one I'm working on. Saved over both the work file and the png. T_T

That happened to me once in the early years of my business and I suddenly saw the clear need for a cloud-based backup for my computer. In the years since, that's saved my bacon on a few projects where I have accidentally saved over an important design file.

I'm lucky that I rarely clamor to play any AAA game on day 1 and have a backlog of incredible games to fill my time. I usually wait for "game of the year" / "ultimate edition" releases of the huge games from most big publishers, and I'm rarely disappointed by that strategy.

Even though Demon's Souls is what put this type of game 'on the map' for a lot of people, From Software has been making this type of game for decades now... going all the way back to PS1 days.

They've put in the time, put in the work, and their efforts have paid off. I f'ing hate souls games, but I cannot deny for one second that From Software has paid its dues and have finally distilled this game down to an absolute science and gotten the kind of success their persistence and dedication deserves.
