When I created the character, I went to the Adjust Armor menu. In that menu, you can select Maximum or Change Armor. I guess Maximum is selected by default. Anyway, I wanted to see what Change Armor did cause I was like "oh SHIT! Do you get different types of armor?!?" Nah. All that was in there was a min/max of 150 HP - no more, no less. I tried sliding it and it didn't do anything (because I hadn't obtained any armor upgrades yet). Hitting X didn't do anything besides bump me back out to the previous menu. I thought that was stupid.
BUT IT DID DO SOMETHING! It manually capped me at the 150 cause I guess that's what I told the game to do? Normally, if set to Maximum, it'd automatically increase my armor.
Totally thought it was weird that my armor wasn't increasing as I played. Completely forgot about it cause I was blasting the shit out of bugs and dragons and robots and that was really fun. Also, holy christ, did you see me in that big-ass robot?
After figuring out what a dumbass I was, I have 418 armor.
@unastrike Your armor should be way higher than 150 if you beat the game. Collecting the armor boxes increases your max armor after the mission, you can adjust it to max/min in the armor adjust setting in the loadout. I don't know how/why you have it set to its default 150 for the wing diver, it should automatically increase post mission after collecting armor crates. That said congrats on beating the game without leveling your armor :D.
