Favorites of the Decade

Player One Podcast had an episode where they talked about their top ten of the decade. So I made my own list, but it's more than 10, but in order.
 
Also, there are two ways at looking at a game in a list like this: The amount of enjoyment when it was a new game, and the amount of enjoyment you would have if you played it today. So, obviously, playing MechWarriors 4 today wouldn't be the same seizure inducing fun I found it to be when I was younger... so it's going to be a weighted average, with more current games probably getting a little more of a bump up than they should.

    ----- Total replay value, I pumped probably 100 hours into this game alone just in free-skate. Also got all 1000 achievement points.

  • March 2002, PC - Bought at launch, first game I ever pre-ordered

    ----- It's just plain awesome. Formed my view of Star Wars and video games at a critical time in my life

  • September 2007, Xbox360 - Bought at launch

    ----- This game was my personal sandbox for 6 months. While some people couldn't stand playing it for 10 hours, I couldn't put it down after 80.

  • November 2004, PC - Bought in the weeks after launch

    ----- Just pure greatness.

  • May 2003, Xbox - No idea when I bought this

    ----- This was the split screen game of my youth. Also, I got a burn-out combo of x34 once on Big Surf... which is like finishing Inferno II without a mistake on Trials HD.

  • November 2000, PC - No idea when I got this (present for a 10 yearold!)

    ----- I played this constantly online for a good year. I just love giant mechs (Western, military style mechs. Not colorful Japanese style mecha).
