I also went with best girl Makoto. The way she follows you around towards the beginning of the game was cute as fuck. If I had to go with another I might say Haru. She's sweet and seeing how heartbroken she was when you turn her down really bummed me out.

Makoto and Haru's are great, but there can only be one best finishing touch.

Beat the final boss last night. I didn't finish due to having to get up for work in the morning, but I'll probably hit around 110 hours by the end. Maxed all Confidants, read all books, and played all video games...and I still had some extra time to hang out with people to decorate my room. Not sure how I managed all that in my first playthrough, but prioritizing Fortune and Temperance helped greatly and I suppose doing max S link runs of 3 and 4 gave me a good idea of how to spend time.

The game was everything I hoped it would be. The cast is probably my favorite, the soundtrack blew me away, and the story, while certainly not the greatest piece of fiction, left me satisfied. Some spoiler stuff I disliked was how disappointing a villian Shido turned out to be. I just found him to be a very anti-climactic final real world boss. Granted, that's probably due to the focus on Akechi, who I was also somewhat disappointed with due to his twist being incredibly obvious and his unearned change of heart/forgiveness moment at the end. But the stuff with Igor was pretty great, though I was slightly annoyed when the real one came back and he still didn't have the right voice. Oh well.

I'm psyched to finish up and start NG+, blow through it again, deck out my attic room with everything I can, and get that platinum. Though I gotta platinum something else really quick before that cause I'm a dork and I want Persona 5 to be my 50th platinum.

@frostyryan: The game also strongly recommends you save before any important decisions, and a major one has immediate consequences so you can go back quickly and easily if you mess up.

@sackmanjones: Man, you must've cruised through it or I'm slow. I just finished the 7th dungeon and hit 100 hours.

@wwfundertaker: The game definitely gives you a lot more free time after the second dungeon. Later dungeons give you upwards of three weeks of free time to finish it and do whatever.

@jesushammer: I'm not saying it's a terrible thing, I'm just tired of it in these games. They did it in 3 to kind of introduce Aigis, they added it in Golden when Yosuke starts getting numbers and calling random chicks, and in this one it just felt thrown in because they were at the beach (I mean the whole Hawaii trip felt unnecessary, but that's beside the point). I have no problem with horny teens trying to get it on, I'm just tired of this joke in these games. Just my opinion.

@frostyryan: It's either a Mementos mission or you're in summer and school needs to start back up in order to continue.

@marokai: Yeah I think the Futaba thing here is a little more projecting than what the game is conveying. Her circumstances, events in her early life, and subsequent isolation from society cause her to be quirky and socially anxious. I don't think the writers intended to project any sort of disorder on her.

As far as the gay stereotypes go, the person(s) who decided to include that are grossly out of touch. Not only that, the "guys-fail-to-pick-up-girls-at-the-beach" scene is something they've been doing since Persona 3 and it wasn't particularly amusing then and is especially poorly done here. Clearly nothing really has changed much from the awful Yosuke and Kanji stuff from 4.

This soundtrack has no business being this good. Just hit the sixth dungeon and just started listening to the track here cause I was annoyed the battles kept interrupting it.

@capum15: I watched the scene of romancing all the girls on Valentine's Day because I was curious and I'll probably never do it, but all I'll say is that it is way funnier and not depressing like Golden's.
